CHML
CHML (900 AM) was a commercial radio station in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, owned by Corus Entertainment. The station's long-time slogan was "Hometown Radio". It went off the air on August 14, 2024 at 1 p.m., shortly after Corus announced that the station would be closing. Its power was 50,000 watts, the maximum for Canadian AM stations. It had a directional antenna with an eight-tower array. Its signal was oriented largely west-northwest to east-southeast, covering the Niagara Peninsula and Western New York. The transmitter was located between Peter's Corners and Cambridge. Its studios were located on Main Street West (next to Highway 403) in Hamilton's Westdale neighbourhood. The station last aired a news/talk format branded as ''900 CHML''. CING-FM (95.3 MHz ''Energy 95.3'') is a Canadian radio station in Hamilton, Ontario. The station airs a hot adult contemporary format. CING's studios are located on Main Street West in Hamilton, while its transmitter is located near Hwy 5 and Millgrove Side Rd in Flamborough. CING is owned by Corus Entertainment. Roy Green (born 1947) is a radio personality who was based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada for much of his career. Biography He was born in Switzerland and moved to Montreal as a young child. Green started his radio career there at a rock station CKGM as a teen. Career Green moved to Hamilton and started work at CHML on January 3, 1973. He has also worked at Toronto's AM 640, as well as hosting a regional Ontario network program. Green retired from daily broadcasting on March 30, 2007 but continued to host the ''Roy Green Show'', heard nationally, on Corus Radio Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 5pm ET. Middle of the road (also known by its acronym MOR) is a commercial radio format. Music associated with this term is strongly melodic and uses techniques of vocal harmony and light orchestral arrangements. The format was similar to soft adult contemporary. In broadcasting, a dark television station or silent radio station is one that has gone off the air for an indefinite period of time. Usually unlike dead air (broadcasting only silence), a station that is dark or silent does not even transmit a carrier signal.
