Club Deportivo Hernán Cortés is a football team based in , Don Benito, Badajoz, in the autonomous community of Extremadura. The club play in , holding home matches at the '' Campo Municipal de Hernán Cortés'', with a capacity of 1,750 people. History Hernán Cortés played for several seasons in the regional leagues until achieving promotion to Tercera División in May 2011. The club spent four consecutive seasons in the category until suffering relegation in 2015. On 29 July 2021, Hernán Cortés became the farm team of CF Villanovense. On 30 May 2023, the club qualified to the 2023–24 Copa del Rey preliminary rounds. Jair Amador Silos (born 21 August 1989), also simply known as Jair, is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Segunda División club Real Zaragoza. Born in Portugal, he holds Spanish citizenship. Club career Early career Born in São Jorge de Arroios, Lisbon, Jair never knew his parents (who were Cape Verdian) and was adopted by a Spanish family, moving to Villanueva de la Serena, Badajoz, Extremadura afterwards. Don Benito () is a Spanish town and municipality in the province of Badajoz, Extremadura, near the left bank of the river Guadiana. According to the 2014 census, the municipality has a population of 37,011. History Don Benito dates from the 15th century, when it was founded by refugees from Don Llorente, who deserted their own town due to the danger of floods from the Guadiana.
