Citizens For Decency Through Law
Citizens for Decent Literature was a pro-censorship advocacy body founded in 1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio by the Roman Catholic anti-pornography campaigner Charles Keating which advocated reading classics, not "smut". Many priests were also involved in this organization. It was later renamed a number of times to various names, the best known of which was Citizens for Decency through Law. It would grow to 300 chapters and 100,000 members nationwide and become the largest anti-pornography organization in the nation. Over the following 20 years the organization mailed some 40 million letters on behalf of its position and had filed ''amicus curiae'' briefs. The organization was one of three national groups involved in the 1980's anti-pornography efforts which resulted in the Meese Report. Under the name Citizens for Decency through Law, the CDL was still active as of 2002, although it did not have a website. Controlled digital lending (CDL) is a model by which libraries digitize materials in their collection and make them available for lending. It is based on interpretations of the United States copyright principles of fair use and copyright exhaustion. DIGITAL Command Language (DCL) is the standard command language for many of the operating systems created by Digital Equipment Corporation. DCL was originally implemented for IAS as the Program Development System (PDS), and later added to RSX-11M, RT-11 and RSTS/E, but took its most powerful form in VAX/VMS (later OpenVMS). DCL continues to be developed by VSI as part of OpenVMS. Compiler Description Language (CDL) is a programming language based on affix grammars. It is very similar to Backus–Naur form (BNF) notation. It was designed for the development of compilers. It is very limited in its capabilities and control flow, and intentionally so. The benefits of these limitations are twofold. On the one hand, they make possible the sophisticated data and control flow analysis used by the CDL2 optimizers resulting in extremely efficient code. The other benefit is that they foster a highly verbose naming convention. This, in turn, leads to programs that are, to a great extent, self-documenting. The language looks a bit like Prolog (this is not surprising since both languages arose at about the same time out of work on affix grammars). Common Data Link (CDL) is a secure U.S. military communication protocol. It was established by the U.S. Department of Defense in 1991 as the military's primary protocol for imagery and signals intelligence. CDL operates within the at data rates up to 274 Mbit/s. CDL allows for full duplex data exchange. CDL signals are transmitted, received, synchronized, routed, and simulated by Common data link (CDL) Interface Boxes (CIBs). The FY06 Authorization Act (Public Law ) requires use of CDL for all imagery, unless waiver is granted.
