CBRN Defense
Chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense (CBRN defense) or Nuclear, biological, and chemical protection (NBC protection) is a class of protective measures taken in situations where chemical warfare, chemical, biological warfare, biological, radiological warfare, radiological, or nuclear warfare, nuclear (including terrorism) hazards may be present. CBRN defense consists of CBRN passive protection, contamination avoidance, and Weapon of mass destruction, weapons of mass destruction mitigation. A CBRN incident differs from a hazardous material incident in both scope and intent. CBRN incidents are responded to under the assumption that they are intentional and malicious; evidence preservation and perpetrator apprehension are of greater concern than with Hazmat team incidents. Presidential Guard Battalion (Brazil)

The Special Operations Command (; C Op Esp) is an elite unit of the Brazilian Army, headquartered in Goiânia and subordinated to the Planalto Military Command and the Land Operations Command. The Grupo de Ações Táticas Especiais ( Portuguese for ''Special Tactical Actions Group''), mostly known by its acronym GATE, is a hostage rescue, bomb disposal and Counter-terrorism unit of the Military Police of São Paulo State in Brazil. It is made up of the 4th, 5th and 6th Companies of the 4th Shock Police Battalion. History GATE was created following a case in 18 February 1987, when former ITA students held a three-month old baby, Tabata, hostage for eight hours in Mogi das Cruzes. At around 6 p.m., the suspects were killed after a shootout and Tabata was rescued, sustaining knife wounds in the process.
