Cecilia (C.C.) Téllez is a Bolivians, Bolivian distance runner and advocate for LGBTQ civil rights. Téllez graduated from Wissahickon High School in Borough of Ambler, Ambler, Pennsylvania, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, where she was a member of the Bloomsburg University Women's Rugby Club (BUWRFC). Téllez was named one of the 48 Most Influential LGBTQ+ Leaders for 2024 by the Philadelphia Gay News. Téllez is a lesbian and hails from La Paz, Bolivia. Philly AIDS Thrift at Giovanni's Room, also known as PAT @ Giovanni's Room and formerly known as Giovanni's Room Bookstore, is a gay bookstore in Philadelphia. It has been called the "center of gay Philly". Founded in 1973 in Philadelphia, Giovanni's Room Bookstore was named after James Baldwin's gay novel ''Giovanni's Room''. Philly AIDS Thrift, a 501c3 non-profit thrift store founded in 2005, took ownership of the store after former owner Ed Hermance retired in 2014, thus leading to the store being known now as Philly AIDS Thrift at Giovanni's Room, also known as PAT @ Giovanni's Room. The Gay Games is a worldwide sport and cultural event that promotes acceptance of sexual diversity, featuring lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBTQ) athletes, artists and other individuals.
