Bedok Reservoir
Bedok Reservoir (, , ) is a reservoir (water), reservoir in the eastern part of Singapore, to the north of Bedok. The reservoir has a surface area of 880,000 m2, and a capacity of 12.8 million m3. The mean depth of the reservoir is 9 m, with a maximum depth of 18.2 m. The shoreline length is 4.3 km. History The reservoir was first announced in 1980 as part of a water supply scheme. It was converted from a sand quarry that was used by the Housing and Development Board (HDB). Construction of the reservoir began in 1983, with the construction of a deep pumping station and a perimeter road. The reservoir was completed in June 1985, and it began operations later that year. Reservoir Bedok Reservoir is now open to water sports activities such as wakeboarding, sailing, Forest Adventure fishing, canoeing and kayaking. Bedok Bus Interchange
Bedok Bus Interchange is an air-conditioned bus interchange located at Bedok Town Centre, serving residential areas around Bedok, Tanah Merah, Bedok Reservoir, Upper East Coast and Marine Parade. It is the seventh air-conditioned bus interchange in Singapore, integrated within Bedok Mall shopping centre and Bedok Residences condominium, and located a short distance away from Bedok MRT station. Nearby public amenities include Bedok Hawker Centre, Bedok Polyclinic, Bedok Point, Bedok Public Library and Heartbeat at Bedok. History The original facility opened on 25 February 1979. It was the first interchange in Singapore to use a colour-coded queue scheme. Bedok North MRT Station
Bedok North MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit station on the Downtown line in the northern part of Bedok, Singapore, located along Bedok North Road, near the Pan Island Expressway flyover and the Bedok Town Park. Bedok Mall is a suburban shopping mall in Bedok, Singapore. It is part of a mixed development, consisting of shops and apartments, that is also integrated with the Bedok MRT station and the Bedok Bus Interchange. Bedok Stadium is a football stadium located in Bedok, Singapore. It is the main home ground of Singapore Premier League side, Geylang International FC, and used mostly for football matches for both the Singapore Premier League and Singapore National Football League competitions. The Aljunied Group Representation Constituency is a five-member group representation constituency (GRC) in the north-eastern and eastern region of Singapore. Gerald Giam Yean Song ( zh, s=严燕松, p=Yán Yànsōng; born 22 November 1977) is a Singaporean politician. A member of the opposition Workers' Party (WP), Giam has been the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Bedok Reservoir– Punggol division of Aljunied GRC since 2020. Dinesh Vasu Dash (born 1974 or 1975) is a Singaporean politician, former civil servant and brigadier-general. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he has been serving as Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth, Minister of State for Manpower and Mayor of South East District since 2025. Early life Dinesh is a third-generation Singaporean with ancestral roots in Varkala, Kerala. His paternal grandfather ran a small business servicing the British naval base in Sembawang in the 1960s, while his maternal family lived in Malaysia before settling in Singapore.
