2012–13 Eurocup Basketball
2012–13 Eurocup Basketball was the 11th edition of Europe's second-tier level transnational competition for men's professional basketball clubs, the EuroCup. The EuroCup is the European-wide league level that is one level below the EuroLeague. The winner of this competition earned a place at the group stage of the next season's EuroLeague. In this edition, semifinals were played in home-and-away series, and the final in a single game. Eurocup Qualifying Rounds were deleted. The final game was played at Spiroudome in Charleroi, Belgium. The 2011–12 Eurocup Basketball season was the tenth edition of Europe's second-tier level transnational competition for men's professional basketball clubs, the EuroCup. The EuroCup is the European-wide league level that is one level below the EuroLeague. It ran from September 27, 2011, until April 15, 2012. The winner of this competition earned a place at the group stage of the next season's EuroLeague. Teams allocation Distribution 32 teams participated in the Eurocup Regular Season: * A total of 10 teams from nine countries qualified directly to the 32-team regular season through their results in domestic competitions, or through a wild card. * Another 8 teams earned their place at the group stage by winning a qualifying round. On July 7, a draw for the Eurocup Qualifying Round, which featured 16 teams from 13 countries, was held in Barcelona. DJK Würzburg
Deutsche Jugendkraft Würzburg, commonly known as DJK Würzburg, is a German sports club. It is most known for its basketball section, which in the past had a professional team. Its best known former player is Dirk Nowitzki. Currently, the sports club contains around 3,000 amateur players. History The DJK Sport Association was founded on September 16, 1920 in Würzburg. QTSV Quakenbrück, widely known as Artland Dragons is a professional basketball club based in Quakenbrück, Germany. The club's home arena is the Artland Arena, which has a capacity of 3,000 spectators. From 2003 till 2015 the club played in the Basketball Bundesliga and in several European competitions. On May 3, 2015, the club announced that it would fold. Ultimately, the management decided to continue operations in the third tier Bundesliga ProB. In 2018, the Dragons were promoted to the ProA. The Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) (English language: ''Federal Basketball League''), for sponsorship reasons named easyCredit BBL, is the German basketball league system, highest level Sports league, league of professional club basketball in Germany. The league comprises 18 teams. A BBL season is split into a league stage and a playoff stage. At the end of the league stage, the top eight teams qualify for the playoff stage, and the teams positioned in the 17th and 18th places are Relegation, relegated to a lower-tier league. Cholet Basket is a professional basketball club that is based in Cholet, France. The club plays in the LNB Pro A. Their home arena is La Meilleraie. Established in 1975, Cholet won its first French championship in the 2009–10 season. In 1998 and 1999, Cholet won the French Basketball Cup, French Cup. History Establishment The team debuted in the 1st division in the 1987–88 season and after managing to get to the premier league in only 12 years.
