President Of Turkey
The president of Turkey, officially the president of the Republic of Türkiye (), is the head of state and head of government of Turkey. The president directs the executive branch of the national government and is the commander-in-chief of the Turkish military. The president also heads the National Security Council. The office of the president of Turkey was established with the proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye on 29 October 1923, with the first president and founder being Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Traditionally, the presidency was mostly a ceremonial position, with real executive authority being exercised by the prime minister of Turkey. However, constitutional amendments approved in the 2017 constitutional referendum abolished the office of prime minister, and vested the presidency with full executive powers, effective upon the 2018 general election. Hanife Çetiner
Hanife Çetiner (14 June 1938 – 10 January 2011) was a Turkish fashion designer. An art and home economics teacher, Çetiner started her career in fashion in 1990 and gained significant popularity over the next decade by making couture women's bridal and evening gowns in her workshop. Subsequently Çetiner became the principal designer for the 67th Miss Turkey competition, creating 134 outfits for the various beauty pageant contestants. She is considered ahead of time in the use of sustainable fashion when the concept was not yet fully developed in the early 90’s. In her designs Çetiner frequently used textiles handwoven by women from small villages in Turkey, or repurposed embroidery pieces from antique Ottoman Empire clothing. She was passionate about supporting women and introducing the rich culture of Anatolia by creating responsible fashion. She frequently combined traditional and modern and fused old with the new. Jülide Gülizar
Jülide Gülizar (''née'' Göksan; 8 April 1929 – 14 March 2011) was a Turkish anchorwoman and journalist. She was one of Turkey's first television anchors, as well as the first anchorwomen on the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT). Gülizar was the first anchorwoman to appear on television for TRT. She was a strong proponent of the use of standard Turkish in radio and television. She retired from TRT in 1982, but continued to work as a news presenter and teacher at other media organizations. Gülizar continued to produce and host her own television program until shortly before her death. She was also the author of several books, including ''Life, Thank You'', ''One Subject, One Guest'', ''Radios of Turkey Calling'', and ''Where are you going Türkçe''. Kamil Altan
Kamil Altan (7 April 1924 – 25 February 2011) was a Turkish footballer. He competed in the men's tournament at the 1952 Summer Olympics. Career Prior to the 1952–53 season, Altan moved from Eyüpspor to Galatasaray, where he played until the end of the 1959–60 season. He scored one goal in 59 league appearances for the club. In the 1954–55 and 1955–56 seasons, he was part of the teams winning the Istanbul Football League. He then signed with Taksim, playing there until 1960. After ending his football career, he became coach of Galatasaray's youth team in 1961. After staying in this position for a while, he was the manager of Tophane Tayfunspor, an amateur team, in the 1970s. Personal life Altan died on 25 February 2011. Emel Say
Emel Say (1927 – 17 February 2011) was a Turkish painter. She was the daughter of painter Zehra Say and the aunt of pianist Fazıl Say. Life Emel Say was born in 1927. Her grandfather was a politician, who left the Committee of Union and Progress and opened a dance hall. Her mother Zehra Say was the first woman in modern Turkey to be married at an official wedding. Emel's mind was always on music. When she was fifteen, she received singing classes from Professor Carl Ebert, who had established the Ankara Conservatory. At first, Emel Say wanted to be an opera artist, but she changed her mind when she fell in love with a piece of land in Hatay, southern Turkey. She had to put her interest in music on hold when she married.
