1966–67 In Belgian Football
The 1966–67 season was the 64th season of competitive association football, football in Belgium. R.S.C. Anderlecht, RSC Anderlechtois won their 13th and 4th consecutive Belgian First Division, Division I title. They also entered the 1966–67 European Cup, 1966–67 European Champion Clubs' Cup as Belgian title holder. Standard Liège entered the 1966–67 European Cup Winners' Cup as the Belgian Cup, Cup holder and reacher the semifinals. R.F.C. de Liège, RFC Liégeois, K.A.A. Gent, ARA La Gantoise and R. Klokke Stadion, from 1931 on known as Albert Dyserynck Stadion, was a multi-use stadium in Bruges, Belgium. Wilfried Puis
Wilfried Puis (18 February 1943 – 21 October 1981) was a Belgian footballer who played as a striker, notably for Anderlecht and the Belgium national team. Puis was praised for his speed, agility and goal kicks which made him and Paul Van Himst a perfect match. A year after he ended his football career, he died of stomach cancer at the age of 38. Club career Puis was born in Ostend. While playing for Anderlecht, he won the Belgian Golden Shoe in 1964. In November 1971, Puis moved to rival Club Brugge. After one season, he was transferred to Lokeren. International career Puis was in the Belgium-Netherlands match in 1964 with 10 teammates from Anderlecht after the substitution of goalkeeper Delhasse by Jean-Marie Trappeniers. In total, he played 49 times for the national team between 1962 and 1975, starting in the second half of a 3–1 friendly defeat to Italy on 13 May 1962. Jacques Stockman
Jacques "Jacky" Stockman (8 October 1938 – 4 May 2013) was a Belgian football player who played as a striker. He played most of his career for R.S.C. Anderlecht and was selected 32 times for Belgium. Club career Stockman started with the youth of FC Ronse but was soon discovered by the big clubs. He eventually chose R.S.C. Anderlecht, where he made his debut in the A-team in 1957. Stockman played 30 games that season and scored 13 goals. A season later, Anderlecht became national champions. In 1962, Stockman became top scorer of the Belgian first division with 29 goals. He was clearly ready for a big European team but simply stayed in his home country, like so many players of the time. In 1966, at the age of 28, he was sold by Anderlecht to Club de Liège despite interest from AS Roma. Paul Guillaume van Himst (born 2 October 1943) is a Belgian former association football, football player and a Coach (sport), football manager who played as a forward (association football), forward, most notably for R.S.C. Anderlecht. Regarded as Anderlecht's ultimate club icon, Van Himst holds the record of four Belgian Golden Shoe awards and was named best "Belgian footballer of the twentieth century".
