Bruno Klopfer Award
The Bruno Klopfer Award is an award for lifetime achievement in personality psychology managed by the Society for Personality Assessment. It is the Society's most prestigious award and is named after the Society's founder Bruno Klopfer. It was first awarded in 1965 as the "Great Man Award", but was renamed in 1970 after it was bestowed on a woman. Personality psychology is a branch of psychology that examines personality and its variation among individuals. It aims to show how people are individually different due to psychological forces. Leopold Bellak
Leopold Bellak (1916–2000) was a psychologist, psychoanalyst, and psychiatrist who pioneered the Children's Apperception Test (CAT). He also collaborated on the Thematic Apperception Test (TAT), on clinical psychological assessments, and pioneered the understanding of ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) as being a genetic disorder. Dr. Bellak created the 67-year-old publishing house, CPS Publishing LLC. He was born in Vienna, Austria and as a refugee moved to the United States in 1939. Jane Loevinger Weissman (February 6, 1918 – January 4, 2008) was an American developmental psychologist who developed a theory of personality which emphasized the gradual internalization of social rules and the maturing conscience for the origin of personal decisions. She also contributed to the theory of measurements by introducing the coefficient of test homogeneity. In the tradition of developmental stage models, Loevinger integrated several "frameworks of meaning-making" into a model of humans' constructive potentials that she called ego development (or in German, '' Ich-Entwicklung''). Jack Block
Jacob "Jack" Block (April 28, 1924 – January 13, 2010) was a psychology professor at UC Berkeley. His main areas of research were personality theory, personality development, research methodology, personality assessment, longitudinal research, and cognition. He often collaborated with his wife Jeanne Block. His most renowned body of work, undertaken primarily with his wife, was a longitudinal study on a cohort of more than 100 San Francisco Bay Area toddlers. He studied them regularly for nearly 30 years. Unlike most longitudinal studies, the Blocks' focused on the psychological makeup and history of the subjects, rather than quantitative measures such as IQ. Auke Tellegen
Auke Tellegen (born 1930) is a psychologist who served as a professor of psychology at the University of Minnesota from 1968 to 1999. He worked on assessment, developing the Multidimensional Personality Questionnaire and contributed to the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory. He received his PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Minnesota in 1962 and did post-doctoral study in clinical psychology at the University of Minnesota Medical School.
