Cyril Brownlie
Cyril James Brownlie (6 August 1895 – 7 May 1954) was a New Zealand rugby union player. He was educated at Sacred Heart College, Auckland, unlike his brothers, Maurice and Laurie, who attended St Patrick's College, Wellington. The brothers represented the country during the 1920s. Cyril Brownlie played 31 matches for the All Blacks, scoring 11 tries. These matches included three tests during The Invincibles tour of 1924–25. Dean Graham Brownlie (born 30 July 1984) is an Australian-born international New Zealand cricketer, currently playing for the Northern Districts cricket team in New Zealand domestic cricket. He has represented the New Zealand national cricket team in all three formats, qualifying to represent the team by way of his father's birthplace. Early career Brownlie was born in Perth, Western Australia. Emma Brownlie (born 4 September 1993) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a defender for Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Women's Premier League. Ian Brownlie
Sir Ian Brownlie (19 September 1932, Liverpool – 3 January 2010, Cairo) was a British barrister and academic, specialising in international law. He was Chichele Professor of Public International Law from 1980 to 1999. Early life and education Brownlie was born in Bootle, Liverpool; his father worked for an insurance company. He was evacuated during the Second World War to Heswell, near Wirral, going a year without any formal education after the local school was bombed. He attended Alsop High School. He then attended Hertford College, Oxford as a Gibbs Scholar in 1952 and received a first-class BA in law in 1953. Speaking of this time, C H S Fifoot described Brownlie his "ablest student". John Brownlie
John Brownlie (born 11 March 1952) is a Scottish former football player and coach, currently assistant manager of East Stirlingshire. Brownlie played as a right back for Pumpherston Juniors, Hibernian, Newcastle United, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool United, Berwick Rangers, Blyth Spartans and the Scotland national team. Brownlie later managed Cowdenbeath, Meadowbank Thistle, East Stirlingshire, Arbroath and Berwick Rangers. Playing career Brownlie joined Hibernian from Pumpherston Juniors in 1969 and remained at Easter Road for nine years. He was part of the 1972 League Cup winning team and also earned runners-up medals in 1972 (Scottish Cup) and 1974 (League Cup). Maurice Brownlie
Maurice Joseph Brownlie (10 August 1897 – 21 January 1957) was an international New Zealand rugby union player. A loose forward, Brownlie represented at a provincial level, and was a member of the New Zealand national team, the All Blacks, from 1922 until 1928. He played 61 matches for New Zealand—a record for All Black appearances that stood until surpassed by Kevin Skinner in 1956—and scored 21 tries. These matches included eight Tests. He captained the All Blacks on 19 occasions, including for the 1928 tour of South Africa. Brownlie was a member of The Invincibles during their European tour of 1924–25. On that tour, his brother Cyril became the first man to be sent off in a Test match. Their older brother Laurie also made an appearance for the All Blacks, in 1921. William Hogg Brownlie (1882 – 30 April 1943) was a Scottish footballer who played as a left back. His senior career in Scotland was spent solely with hometown club Hamilton Academical where he spent six full seasons and the first part of a seventh before emigrating to Canada.
