Electoral District Of Broadwater
Broadwater is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland. It was created at the 1991 redistribution. The electorate is based on the northern end of the Gold Coast. It includes South Stradbroke Island as well as Labrador, Paradise Point, Runaway Bay and Sanctuary Cove and Coombabah. Since 2017 the local member has been David Crisafulli of the Liberal National Party. Broadwater School
Broadwater School is a coeducational secondary school in the village of Farncombe, situated in the county of Surrey in England. Established as Broadwater County Secondary School the official opening was on Monday, 8 July 1968 eference: Opening Programme The opening ceremony was performed by Chairman of Surrey County Council (Mr Louis A. White, J.P.) followed by a Prayer of Dedication by the Rector of Farncombe, Revd. E. R. Barnes. It has been a mixed comprehensive school since c.1970 and has approximately 600 students aged 11–16 years. Its main building has a multi-wing layout and between one and four floors. USS ''Broadwater'' (APA-139) was a in service with the United States Navy from 1945 to 1946. She was scrapped in 1974. History ''Broadwater'' was laid down on 1 September 1944 at Wilmington, Los Angeles, by the California Shipbuilding Corporation under a Maritime Commission contract (MCV hull 55). She was launched on 5 November 1944, sponsored by Mrs. A. E. Florer, and delivered to the Navy on 31 December 1944. She was commissioned at Terminal Island, California on 2 January 1945. Named for Broadwater County, Montana, she was the only U.S. Naval vessel to bear the name. Broadwater, known as Chris Broadwater (born March 22, 1972), is an attorney in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who was a Republican member of the Louisiana House of Representatives for District 86, which encompasses within Tangipahoa Parish the communities of Independence, Tickfaw, Natalbany, and northwestern Hammond, Broadwater's own city of residence. Charles Arthur Broadwater
Charles Arthur Broadwater (September 25, 1840–May 24, 1892) was a wealthy and influential Montana railroad, real estate, and banking magnate. Broadwater was born in St. Charles, Missouri. He was president of the Montana Central Railway, a spur line which ran between Great Falls, Montana Helena and Butte, Montana. He opened the Montana National Bank in Helena, and had extensive real estate holdings in the state. Montana's Broadwater County is named after him. Broadwater began his career in 1862 as a livestock trader in the gold rush town of Bannack, Montana. He soon extended his interests into transportation, becoming superintendent of the large Diamond R Freighting Company, which dominated shipping in the Territory of Montana before the coming of the railroads. Broad Water, or Broadwater (Welsh: ''Aber Dysynni'') is a salt water lagoon near Tywyn, Wales formed from the silted up estuary of the River Dysynni. In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the estuary was used by the shipbuilding industry, as small sailing ships were launched to carry peat from the local peat bogs. This industry was abandoned in the nineteenth century when the estuary became too silted up, forming the lagoon. The outflow of the lagoon flows beneath a railway bridge before entering Cardigan Bay. Tixall Wide
Tixall Wide, also known as Tixall Broad or The Broad Water, is a body of water that forms part of the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal near Tixall in Staffordshire, England, to the south of the former Tixall Hall. The lake was probably created during the construction of the canal in 1771. At that time, the hall was owned by Thomas Clifford, the fourth son of Hugh Clifford, 3rd Baron Clifford of Chudleigh, and the grounds had been designed on the advice of the landscape architect Lancelot "Capability" Brown.
