Brian Goodwin (baseball)
Brian Christopher Goodwin (born November 2, 1990) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Wei Chuan Dragons of the Chinese Professional Baseball League. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Washington Nationals, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Angels, Cincinnati Reds and Chicago White Sox. Before his professional career, Goodwin played college baseball for the North Carolina Tar Heels. Amateur career Born and raised in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Goodwin attended Rocky Mount High School where he was a three-sport athlete in baseball, football, and basketball. Goodwin was named Gatorade North Carolina Baseball Player of the Year during his senior season, and also received All-Conference honors in football as a cornerback and kick returner. The Los Angeles Angels are an American professional baseball team based in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The Angels compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) West division. Since 1966, the team has played its home games at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California. Rocky Mount High School is a public high school in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Established in 1927, the school is in Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools. History Public education in Rocky Mount began in 1901. High school programs were established in the following years, but did not have their own buildings until 1915, when the high school department of the Rocky Mount Graded Schools for White Children took over Edgemont School on Cokey Road and it became Edgemont High School. Auburn Doubledays
The Auburn Doubledays are a collegiate summer baseball team of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) that is located in Auburn, New York. From 1958 to 2020, they were members of Minor League Baseball's New York–Penn League (NYPL). They have played their home games at Leo Pinckney Field at Falcon Park since 1995. They previously played at the original Falcon Park, which was built in 1927 on the same site. The team is owned and operated by Auburn Community Baseball. Auburn began in the NYPL in 1958 and has since competed under various names and served as the farm team for a number of Major League Baseball teams. The 2011 Major League Baseball draft was held from June 6 through June 8, 2011, from Studio 42 of the MLB Network in Secaucus, New Jersey. The Harwich Mariners are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Harwich, Massachusetts. The team is a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and plays in the league's East Division. Collegiate summer baseball leagues are amateur baseball leagues in the United States and Canada featuring players who have attended at least one year of college and have at least one year of athletic eligibility remaining. Generally, they operate from early June to early August. In contrast to college baseball, which allow aluminum or other composite baseball bats, players in these leagues use only wooden bats, hence the common nickname of these leagues as "wood-bat leagues".
