ATSV 1860 Bremen was a German association football club playing in Bremen. Today the sports club no longer fields a football side and has departments for badminton, basketball, cheerleading, dancing, fencing, handball, Judo, Karate, pool-billiards, rhythmic gymnastics, rugby union, skating, Taekwon-do, and volleyball. The club was formed as ABTS Bremen in 1920 out of the union of football club Bremer SC 1891, gymnastics club ATV 1860 Bremen, and aquatics club Bremer Schwimm-Club. This combined association fielded competitive sides in the Westkreisliga/Bezirksliga Weser-Jade through the 1920s, capturing a league title in 1922. Stadion an der Bremer Brücke or ''Bremer Brücke'' is a football stadium in the Schinkel district of Osnabrück, Germany. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of VfL Osnabrück. The stadium currently holds 16,100 people and was opened in 1933. From the 1970s, the stadium consisted of the Grandstand ("South Stand"), two roofed terraces behind the goals ("East Stand" and "West Stand"), and an uncovered terrace opposing the grandstand ("North Stand"). On 1 April 2008, demolishing works of the very old North Stand started to make way for a modern entirely roofed stand to be built at the site. The new stand was opened in August 2008; however, there has been controversy with a local resident whose property is situated very close to the ground. For this reason, the stand could not be fully completed earlier than 2011. A Bremer wall, or T-wall, is a portable, steel-reinforced concrete blast wall of the type used for blast protection throughout Iraq and Afghanistan. The Bremer barrier resembles the smaller Jersey barrier, which has been used widely for vehicle traffic control on coalition military bases in Iraq and Afghanistan. To indicate that the Bremer barrier is similar but larger, the , intermediate-sized Bremer barriers are usually referred to as Texas barriers, but not to be confused with the Texas constant-slope barrier. Bremer Vulkan AG was a prominent German shipbuilding company located at the Weser river in Bremen-Vegesack. It was founded in 1893 and closed in 1997 because of financial problems and mismanagement. All together Bremer Vulkan built about 1100 ships—including the ships of the predecessor Johann Lange Shipyard—of different types. It is remarkable that the Bremer Vulkan, with the exception of both World Wars, only built civilian ships; production of naval ships except during wartime first started in the 1980s. Bremer Ehrler (July 10, 1914 – February 9, 2013) was an American politician who served as Jefferson County Judge/Executive and secretary of state of Kentucky. Early life and education Ehrler was born in Louisville, Kentucky. As a child, he worked on his family's dairy farm. He graduated from DuPont Manual High School in 1931. Career Ehrler joined the United States Army in 1942 and served until 1968, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. Ehrler worked for the United States Postal Service for 37 years. Ehrler served as postmaster of Louisville, Kentucky in the 1960s, and was elected to a term as Kentucky secretary of state (1988–1992). He later served as appointed Jefferson County sheriff in 1993.
