Bob McDermott
Robert Charles McDermott (born August 5, 1963) is an American politician and a Republican member of the Hawaii House of Representatives since November 6, 2012, representing District 40 (ʻEwa, ʻEwa Beach, ʻEwa Gentry, Iroquois Point). McDermott previously served three terms in the Hawaii House of Representatives from 1996 until 2002, but left to run unsuccessfully for Hawaii's 2nd congressional district in the United States House of Representatives. He was the Republican nominee for U.S. Senator from Hawaii and ran against incumbent Senator Brian Schatz in the November 2022 general election, in which he lost. Education McDermott is a 1981 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania. He earned his BA in economics and his MBA from Chaminade University of Honolulu. Sharon E. Har is an American politician. She served as a member of the Hawaii House of Representatives for District 42 from January 16, 2013 to November 8, 2022 for the Democratic Party. She was succeeded by Diamond Garcia (R). Har served consecutively from January 2007 to January 2013 in the District 40 seat. Early life and education Har was born in Springfield, Illinois, to Korean American parents Chester Chiduk Ha and Katherine Kyunhee Ha. The Women's March was a worldwide protest on January 21, 2017, the day after Inauguration of Donald Trump, the inauguration of Donald Trump as US president. It was prompted by Trump's policy positions and rhetoric, which protesters called Misogyny, misogynistic or otherwise threatening to the Women's rights, rights of women. The 2018 Hawaii gubernatorial election took place on November 6, 2018, to elect the Governor of Hawaii and Lieutenant Governor of Hawaii. After prevailing in an intensely competitive primary election on August 11, 2018, incumbent Democratic Governor David Ige ran successfully for re-election to a second term in office, considerably improving on his margin of victory from 2014, in which he only won a plurality. Republicans Andria Tupola and Marissa Kerns headed one of two 2018 major-party gubernatorial tickets that included two women. Red Hill Underground Fuel Storage Facility
The Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility is a military fuel storage facility in Hawaii. Operated by the United States Navy, Red Hill supports U.S. military operations in the Pacific. As of March 7, 2022, the Department of Defense announced the planned closure of the Red Hill facility, due to reduced military need and water contamination issues. Description Unlike any other facility in the United States, the Red Hill Underground Fuel Storage Facility can store up to 250 million gallons of fuel.
