Bob Jauch
Robert Jauch (born November 22, 1945) is a retired Americans, American Democratic Party (United States), Democratic politician. He served 28 years in the Wisconsin State Senate (1987–2015) and four years in the Wisconsin State Assembly, State Assembly (1983–1987). He retired in 2015, citing the increased partisanship in the Legislature. Background Born in Wheaton, Illinois, Jauch graduated from Wheaton Central High School and then served in the United States Army 1964–1968. He went to University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire and University of Wisconsin–Superior. He served as field representative for United States Representative David Obey. Wisconsin legislature During the protests in Wisconsin, Jauch, along with the 13 other Democratic State Senators, left the state to deny the State Senate a quorum on Scott Walker (politician), Governor Scott Walker's controversial "Budget Repair" legislation. Wisconsin Senate, District 25
The 25th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in northwest Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Iron, Price, and Washburn counties, and part of northern Sawyer County. The 25th Senate district is the largest Wisconsin Senate district by area; mostly rural, the largest population center is the city of Superior. The district also includes the Bad River and Lac du Flambeau Indian reservations, and most of the Chequamegon–Nicolet National Forest. Current elected officials Romaine Quinn is the senator representing the 25th district since January 2023. He previously served in the State Assembly, representing the 75th Assembly district from 2015 to 2021, and was mayor of Rice Lake from 2010 through 2012.
