William M. Gillespie (April 19, 1928 – July 5, 2008) was an American politician and attorney in the state of Florida. Gillespie was born in Daytona Beach, Florida. He attended the University of Florida, Florida State University, and law school at Stetson University Stetson University is a private university with four colleges and schools located across the I–4 corridor in Central Florida with the primary undergraduate campus in DeLand. The university was founded in 1883 and was later established in 1887 .... He served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1966 to 1972 for district 10. He is a member of the Democratic Party. His father James U. Gillespie also served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1939 to 1941. The Florida House of Representatives is the lower house of the Florida Legislature, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Florida, the Florida Senate being the upper house. New Smyrna Beach is a city in Volusia County, Florida, United States, located on the central east coast of the state, with the Atlantic Ocean to the east. Stetson University is a private university with four colleges and schools located across the I–4 corridor in Central Florida with the primary undergraduate campus in DeLand. The university was founded in 1883 and was later established in 1887. In total, there are over 4,000 students currently enrolled at Stetson. History Stetson University was founded in 1883 and was first known as DeLand Academy, after the principal founder of the town, Henry Addison DeLand. In 1889, the name was changed to John B.
