Bhasin
Bhasin is a surname that is found among the Khatri community of India. They are a part of Khukhrain sub-caste among the Khatris which also includes the clans of Anand, Chadha, Kohli, Ghai, Sahni (Sawhney), Sethi and Suri. Kamal Shankar Srivastava writes that all Khukrains including Sabharwals were originally found near the banks of Indus and Jhelum river especially in the towns of Pind Dadan Khan, Peshawar and Nowshera. Bhasin translates to "sun". Before 1947, they were mostly concentrated in Rawalpindi district (1208 families) according to 1881 Census of India conducted by the British. A small number of Bhasin had also immigrated to Lahore city. Jasmin Bhasin (born 28 June 1990) is an Indian actress and model who appears in Hindi television shows. She made her debut in 2011 with Tamil movie Vaanam as priya. Ved Bhasin (1 May 1929 – 5 November 2015) was a student leader, political activist and prominent journalist from Jammu. He served more than six decades in his profession of active journalism. He was the founder and editor of the Jammu and Kashmir daily '' Kashmir Times''. He was popularly called as the 'Grand Old Man' of English journalism in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Om Prakash Bhasin Award for Science and Technology is an Indian award, instituted in 1985 to recognize excellence in the areas of science and technology. Bhasin V Hrynew
is a leading Canadian contract law case, concerning good faith as a basic organizing principle in contractual relations in Canada's common law jurisdictions. The case at hand Canadian American Financial Corp (now known as Heritage Education Funds) marketed Registered Education Saving Plans, and hired Bhasin as an "enrollment director" in 1998 for three years with automatic renewal unless six months' notice was given. Hrynew, another enrollment director who competed, had proposed to merge their agencies, and asked Can-Am to force it, but Bhasin refused. Kamla Bhasin (24 April 1946 – 25 September 2021) was an Indian developmental feminist activist, poet, author and social scientist. Anuradha Bhasin is an Indian journalist based in the city of Jammu, who is the executive editor of the newspaper ''Kashmir Times''.
