Benny Ramos
Benny Ramos is an American musician and producer from Chicago. He is currently the bassist for King James (band), King James, the Rex Carroll Band, The Royal Guard, and for Whitecross (band), Whitecross, which he joined in 2000 for their reunion concert at the Cornerstone Festival and has since toured with internationally. He is credited on at least 70 projects across genres such as R&B, funk, jazz, rock and hip hop. He's worked with artists such Israel Houghton and New Breed, Grammy Award winning producer Aaron Lindsay, Teddy Campbell, Cornell Thigpen, Michael Manson, and Bill Dickens. In 2010, Ramos was one of many musicians on ''Mister Bolin's Late Night Revival'', which features previously unreleased songs written by guitarist Tommy Bolin, who died in 1976. Some of the proceeds from this album were donated to the Jackson Recovery Centers. Cornerstone Festival
Cornerstone Festival was a Christian music festival put on by Jesus People USA and held annually around July 4 near Bushnell, Illinois, drawing some 20,000 attendees each year. In a given year, many artists that played at Cornerstone also played at other events such as Creation Festival and mainstream festivals and tours such as the Warped Tour. The final festival was held in 2012. Cornerstone Festival was a member of the Christian Festival Association. History From 1984 to 1990, Cornerstone was held at the Lake County Fairgrounds near Grayslake, Illinois. In 1991, Cornerstone moved near the town of Bushnell (outside Macomb) where the organizers of the festival purchased a large piece of land, which is now called "Cornerstone Farm". Tommy Bolin
Thomas Richard Bolin (August 1, 1951 – December 4, 1976) was an American guitarist and songwriter who played with Zephyr (from 1969 to 1971), The James Gang (from 1973 to 1974), and Deep Purple (from 1975 to 1976), in addition to maintaining a notable career as a solo artist and session musician. Musical career Early years Tommy Bolin was born in Sioux City, Iowa, United States, and began playing with a band called The Miserlous before he was asked to join another band called Denny and The Triumphs in 1964 at age 13. The band included Dave Stokes on lead vocals, Brad Miller on guitar and vocals, Bolin on lead guitar, Steve Bridenbaugh on organ and vocals, Denny Foote on bass, and Brad Larvick on drums. Rex Carroll
Rex Carroll is a guitarist and known for his work in the Christian metal band Whitecross (band), Whitecross. Rex Carroll is also the leader and guitarist of other bands including Fierce Heart, King James (band), King James and the Rex Carroll Band. He also filled in and did all the guitar work on Eden's 1994 album ''Fan The Flame''. Career Whitecross In Whitecross, Carroll is not only the lead guitarist, but is also the primary songwriter. With Whitecross, he has completed six world tours and in 1989 they were the first American rock band to perform in Guatemala City. Whitecross won two Dove Awards for "Metal Album of the Year" in 1990 and 1992. King James (band)
King James is a heavy metal supergroup formed in 1993 with guitarist Rex Carroll ( Whitecross) and frontman Jimi Bennett (Sacred Fire). Some time later, they recruited Tim Gaines and Robert Sweet of Stryper, and released their first album in 1994. The band supported the album with a tour without Gaines, who declined to join after the recording. Sweet toured with the band into 1996, but did not participate in their second release. Carroll and Bennett remained together and released a second album, ''The Fall'', in 1997. At that time there was talk of another King James release, but Whitecross regrouped, and Jimi joined former Petra drummer Louie Weaver to form Viktor. Both groups have released new CDs as of 2006.
