Sanité Bélair
Suzanne Bélair, called ''Sanite Bélair'', (1781 – 5 October 1802), was a Haitian revolutionary and lieutenant in the army of Toussaint Louverture. Born an affranchi in Verrettes, Haiti, she married Brigade commander and later General Charles Bélair in 1796. She was an active participant in the Haitian Revolution, became a sergeant and later a lieutenant during the conflict with French troops of the Saint-Domingue expedition. Capture and execution Chased by Faustin Répussard's column of the French army, the Belairs took refuge in the Artibonite (department), Artibonite department. Répussard launched a surprise attack on Corail-Mirrault, and captured Sanité Bélair. Her husband turned himself over as well to avoid being separated from her. Both were sentenced to death, her spouse was to be executed by firing squad and she by decapitation because of her sex. Belair Park
Belair Park is a park located in the West Dulwich part of the London Borough of Southwark, southeast London, England. The park grounds once belonged to Belair House, a country villa built in Adam style that is now a Grade II listed building. There are also two other Grade II listed structures within the park: the lodge and entrance gate, and an old stable building. Château Bélair-Monange, named until 2007 'Château Belair'', is a Bordeaux vineyard from the appellationbr>Saint-Émilion Grand Cru ranked Premier grand cru classé B' in the Classification of Saint-Émilion wine. The winery is located in the Right Bank of France’s Bordeaux wine region in the commune of Saint-Émilion, in the department Gironde. The estate was considered a leading producer of Saint-Émilion until the 20th century. Belair Stud
Belair Stud was an American thoroughbred horse racing stable and breeding farm founded by Provincial Governor of Maryland Samuel Ogle in 1747 in Collington, Prince George's County, Maryland, in Colonial America. Colonial period Queen Mab and Spark were the first pair of English-bred Thoroughbred horses imported to the Province of Maryland. Frederick Calvert, 6th Baron Baltimore, gave Spark to Ogle by during Ogle's trip to England in 1740; the Prince of Wales presented the gift to Ogle. Later, Benjamin Tasker Jr., brought Selima to Belair, where she became a prominent producer. The Woodward Family In 1898 the property was sold to the wealthy New York City banker James T.
