Batagay (russian: Батага́й; sah, Баатаҕай, ''Baatağay'') is an urban locality (an urban-type settlement) and the administrative center of Verkhoyansky District of the Sakha Republic, Russia, located on the Yana River. As of the 2010 Census, its population was 4,369. Geography Batagay is located a short distance to the west of river Adycha. The Batagaika crater is located 10 km to the southeast and the Kisilyakh Range 40 km to the northeast of the town.
