Basketball TV
Basketball TV or BTV was a Philippine pay television sports channel with offices on Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong. It was owned by the Solar Entertainment Corporation. It was launched on October 1, 2006, rebranding the Sports Plus channel. On September 25, 2019, it announced on its official Facebook page as well as on its Instagram and Twitter accounts that the channel and NBA Premium TV will cease their operations on October 1, 2019. The final program to air on this channel was a replay of '' NBA Playoff Playback'' on September 30, 2019, before signing off at 12:00 m.n. on October 1, 2019. Shaw Boulevard
Shaw Boulevard (formerly known as Jose Rizal Boulevard and Pasig Boulevard or commonly known as Crossing) is a 4-8 lane highway connecting the cities of Mandaluyong and Pasig in the Philippines. The boulevard is named after William James Shaw, the founder of the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club in Mandaluyong. The road is one of the major thoroughfares of the Ortigas Center in Mandaluyong and Pasig, housing many shopping malls like the Starmall shopping center and the posh Shangri-La Plaza at the EDSA-Shaw intersection and The Marketplace, which is visible from the Kalentong-Shaw intersection and Sevilla Bridge. The National Basketball Conference was a regional-based basketball league in the Philippines formed in 2004. The league is sanctioned by the Philippine national sport association for basketball, the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas. Teams are also sponsored by the local government and sponsors. The National Basketball League (NBL), also known as NBL–Philippines or NBL–Pilipinas, is a regional professional basketball league in the Philippines. History On June 7, 2018, Celso "Soy" Mercado established the league and named National Basketball League Philippines to search undiscovered talents. The league will feature an away-and-home format and will focus on giving homegrown players (aged 18–29 years old and a bonafide resident of the team's province, city or municipality) an opportunity to showcase their skills in the hope of making it to the professional and semi-professional leagues. The National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) is an athletic association in Metro Manila (National Capital Region), Philippines established in 1993. It is primarily held during the second semester of a school around November until February. The 23rd season of the NCRAA was opened on January 23, 2016, at the DLSU-D Gym in Dasmariñas, Cavite. De La Salle-Dasmariñas is the tournament host for this season. Basketball and Volleyball are the centerpiece sports of the league but it also stage several events as well. In 2016, the league merged with the Universities and Colleges of Luzon Athletic Association to become the NCR-UCL Athletic Association. The 2006 FIBA World Championship was the 15th FIBA World Championship, the international basketball world championship for men's national teams. The tournament was hosted by Japan and held from 19 August to 3 September 2006. The 2006 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament involved 65 teams playing in a single-elimination tournament to determine the national champion of men's NCAA Division I college basketball as a culmination of the 2005–06 basketball season.
