''Barbara'' (German: ''Barbara - Wild wie das Meer'') is a 1961 West German drama film directed by Frank Wisbar and starring Harriet Andersson, Maria Sebaldt and Carl Lange (actor), Carl Lange. Parish & R. Pitts p.422 The film is adapted from the 1939 novel of the same title by Jørgen-Frantz Jacobsen. It was shot at studios in Copenhagen while location shooting took place in the Faroe Islands where the film is set. Frank Wisbar
Frank Wisbar (born Franz Wysbar 9 December 1899 – 17 March 1967) was a German film director and screenwriter. Born in Lithuania, Wisbar directed more than 20 films between 1932 and 1967 in Germany and the United States, as well as amassing many television credits. He created TV's ''Fireside Theatre'' and was the show's producer in addition to frequently directing and writing episodes. He was also a member of the jury at the 10th Berlin International Film Festival. Hans von Borsody (; 20 September 1929 – 4 November 2013) was a German film actor. He was born in Vienna into an artistic family of Hungarian descent. His father Eduard was a film director, his uncle Julius a set designer.(in German) His daughter Suzanne is an actress. Erik Schumann
Erik Schumann (15 February 1925 – 9 February 2007) was a German actor. He appeared in 100 films and television shows between 1942 and 1997. He was most successful during the 1950s and 1960s, when he played leading roles in several German films. He starred in the 1964 film ''Time of the Innocent'', which was entered into the 14th Berlin International Film Festival. Schumann also worked as a stage and dubbing-voice actor in German synchronisations. Among his dubbing roles were Tony Curtis in ''Some Like It Hot'', Cary Grant in ''Bringing Up Baby'' and Jack Nicholson in ''Prizzi's Honor''.
