Baltimore Blast (1980–1992) Players
The Baltimore Blast is an American professional indoor soccer team based in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. The team is a part of the Major Arena Soccer League. The team has won 10 championships since it was founded in 1980. Beginning with the 2017-2018 season, home games have been played at Towson University's SECU Arena. The Blast previously played at Royal Farms Arena in downtown Baltimore. Team colors are red and gold and their current head coach is David Bascome, who took over after 16 year head coach Danny Kelly had moved on. SECU Arena
SECU Arena is a 5,200-seat multi-purpose arena on the Towson University campus in Towson, Maryland. The arena was completed and opened in 2013, and now hosts the men's and women's basketball teams, as well as the volleyball and gymnastics teams. It replaced the Towson Center, which had been in use since 1976. The arena has 340 club seats, four private suites and 104 court side seats. Upon opening, the arena was awarded LEED Gold certification for energy use, lighting, water and material use, and other sustainable features. In addition to being the home of several Towson sports teams, the arena also serves several other functions. It has been used as a concert arena for artists such as the Backstreet Boys, Gavin DeGraw, and Juicy J. Since opening, the arena has been host to an annual performance by the Harlem Globetrotters. Major Arena Soccer League 3
The Major Arena Soccer League 3 (MASL3) is a North American indoor soccer league that serves as the developmental league of the Major Arena Soccer League and MASL2. History Established in the summer of 2020, MASL3 is the third tier of indoor soccer in North America under the MASL system. Grand Rapids Wanderers and Muskegon Risers II were the first two member clubs announced with the Omaha Kings FC and Sunflower State FC named the same week. Wichita Wings II and Springfield Demize were also added to the inaugural MASL3 lineup. With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic just four teams (Grand Rapids and Muskegon sat out) competed in the inaugural season of 2020–21. Royal Farms Arena
CFG Bank Arena (originally the Baltimore Civic Center and formerly Royal Farms Arena, Baltimore Arena and 1st Mariner Arena) is a multipurpose arena in Baltimore, Maryland. Rochester Lancers (2011–15)
The Rochester Lancers are an indoor soccer team in the Major Arena Soccer League 2. The team is named in honor of the Rochester Lancers of the North American Soccer League. The team was active from November 2011 through March 2015. In July 2015, the team cited a sharp increase in the cost of insurance to more than double the team's payroll costs and announced the end of the franchise. A new version of the team contested the 2018–19 Major Arena Soccer League 2 season; for 2019–20 the team moved back up to the MASL. Florida Tropics SC is a professional soccer club based in Lakeland, Florida. They are owned by Central Florida Sports Ventures, LLC, led by Dr. Panos Iakovidis, and former USL commissioner and Rochester Rhinos owner Chris Economides. The 2015–16 Major Arena Soccer League season is the eighth season for the league and the second since six teams from the former Major Indoor Soccer League defected to what was formerly called the Professional Arena Soccer League. The regular season started on October 24, 2015, and ended on March 4, 2016. Each team played a 20-game schedule. It was also the 38th season of professional indoor soccer in the United States. Teams Many of the 22 teams that completed the 2014–15 season returned for the 2015–16 season. Teams not returning this season include Rochester Lancers, Wichita B-52s, Tulsa Revolution, and Monterrey Flash.
