Troms
Troms (; se, Romsa; fkv, Tromssa; fi, Tromssa) is a former county in northern Norway. On 1 January 2020 it was merged with the neighboring Finnmark county to create the new Troms og Finnmark county. Balsfjorden
or is a fjord in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The long fjord runs through the municipalities of Balsfjord and Tromsø. It branches off the Tromsøysundet strait just south of the city of Tromsø and it flows in a north–south direction, ranging from wide. The European route E8 highway follows most of the eastern shore of the fjord and the European route E6 highway runs along the southern end of the fjord. Malangen
Malangen ( sme, Málatvuotna or fkv, Malankivuono) is a former municipality in Troms county in Norway. The municipality existed from 1871 until its dissolution in 1964. The old municipality surrounded the Malangen fjord and today that area is divided between the municipalities of Balsfjord, Lenvik, Tromsø, and Målselv. The administrative centre was the village of Mortenhals where the main church for the municipality, Malangen Church, is located. History The Saga of Haakon Haakonarson mentions that in 1242 the king allowed refugees from Bjarmaland (since they were attacked by the Tatars - ) to settle in the area of Malangen. Storsteinnes is the administrative center of Balsfjord Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The village has a population (2017) of 1,076 which gives the village a population density of . or is a small village in Balsfjord Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The village lies about southeast of the city of Tromsø. Lyngen Alps
The Lyngen Alps ( no, Lyngsalpene) are a mountain range in northeastern Troms og Finnmark county in Norway, east of the Tromsø (city), city of Tromsø. The mountain range runs through the municipalities of Lyngen, Balsfjord, and Storfjord. The mountains follow the western shore of the Lyngen (fjord), Lyngen fjord in a north-south direction. The length of the range is at least (depending on definition—there are mountains all the way south to the border with Sweden) and the width is . The mountains dominate the Lyngen Peninsula, which is bordered by the Lyngen (fjord), Lyngen fjord to the east, and the Ullsfjorden to the west. Malangen (fjord)
Malangen or Malangsfjorden ( sme, Málatvuotna and fkv, Malankivuono) is a fjord in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The long fjord runs through the municipalities of Balsfjord, Målselv, Senja, and Tromsø. The fjord runs southeast between the islands of Senja and Kvaløya and further into the mainland along the border between Balsfjord and Lenvik municipalities. The fjord stretches from Hekkingen Lighthouse off the coast of the island of Senja to the village of Nordfjordbotn. In the inner part of the fjord, it branches out into four smaller fjords: Nordfjorden, Aursfjorden, Målselvfjorden, and Rossfjorden. The Målselva river feeds into the Målselvfjorden.
