Bahari Constituency
Bahari Constituency was an Constituencies of Kenya, electoral constituency in Kenya. It was one of three constituencies in Kilifi District, which is now Kilifi County. The constituency was established for the 1988 elections. In 2013, Bahari Constituency was dissolved and replaced by Kilifi South Constituency and Kilifi North Constituency. Constituencies of Kenya are used to elect members of the National Assembly, the lower chamber of the Kenyan Parliament. In accordance with article 89 of the 2010 Constitution of Kenya, there are 290 constituencies, based on a formula where these constituencies were to be delineated based on population numbers. Each constituency returns one MP. In the following lists, the population of each of the 47 counties is given as enumerated in the census of 24 August 2009. 2013 Kenyan General Election
General elections were held in Kenya on 4 March 2013. Voters elected the President, members of the National Assembly and newly formed Senate. They were the first elections held under the new constitution, which was approved in a 2010 referendum, and were also the first run by the new Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). They coincided with the 2013 Kenyan local elections. The presidential election saw Uhuru Kenyatta of the National Alliance (TNA) defeat Raila Odinga of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). Incumbent President Mwai Kibaki was ineligible to pursue a third term due to the two-term limit established in Clause 142 of the Constitution of Kenya. This was the first Kenyan presidential election to include a joint-ticket system for deputy president, which was introduced in the 2010 Constitution. Takaungu
Takaungu is a historic Swahili town located on the Kenyan Coast between Mombasa and Malindi, in Kilifi County. It is 10 kilometres south of the town of Kilifi, in the Kikambala division. Takaungu is located at the Creek in Kilifi North Constituency of Kilifi County in Coast Province. It is 37 km from Mombasa and it is 3 km from the Mombasa - Malindi Road just after the Vipingo Sisal estate. Just behind Takaungu, there are two neighboring Miji Kenda communities. The Chonyi's in the South and the Kauma's in the north. These two tribes did not settled in Takaungu as they were cultivators and were not fishermen nor sailors. The town has population of 1500. Mtwapa is a town located in Kenya's Kilifi County. It is situated north of Mombasa on the Mombasa-Malindi road. It is close to the Mombasa Marine National Park and Reserve and Jumba la Mtwana. Two informal settlements in Mtwapa, Majengo and Mzambarauni, are participating in the UN-HABITAT Participatory Slum Upgrading Program. Kilifi
Kilifi is a town on the coast of Kenya, northeast by road of Mombasa. The town lies on the Kilifi Creek and sits on the estuary of the Goshi River. Kilifi is capital of the Kilifi County and has a population of 122,899 (2009 census). Kilifi is known for its beach and for the ruins of Mnarani, including mosques and tombs, dating from the 14th to the 17th century. Geography and climate Kilifi town sits on both sides of the estuary and are linked by the Kilifi Bridge which overlooks the estuary. The south side has the Mnarani ruins and Shauri Moyo beach while the north side is the main part of Kilifi Town and Bofa Beach.
