Bør Børson Jr. (musical)
''Bør Børson Jr.'' is a Norwegian musical based on the novel '' Bør Børson Jr.'' written by Johan Falkberget in 1920. The musical was written by Egil Monn-Iversen (music) and Harald Tusberg (book/lyrics). The performance is considered the first Norwegian musical, and has since its premiere in 1972 achieved great popularity. It is still being performed in theaters across Norway. The plot follows Bør, a young businessman from the countryside, with big ambitions and great naivety. He runs the village's general store and often travels on business trips to Trondheim. Before he achieves his fame and wealth, he must fight against seductive maidens, «village beasts», and stock speculators. The action is set in the fictional village of Olderdalen in Sør-Trøndelag. Egil Monn-Iversen
Egil Ragnar Monn-Iversen (14 April 1928 – 7 July 2017) was a Norwegian musician, one of the most influential modern composers in Norway. He has had many important roles in Norwegian music, film, opera, television, comedy and theater. For some time he had so much influence in Norwegian culture that he got the nickname ''The Godfather'', even though he always considered himself a down-to-earth musician. Monn-Iversen owned a film production company, a record label, and an agency for musical artists, he was the founder of the vocal group The Monn Keys, he was the CEO at the Chat Noir theatre, chairman at The Norwegian Opera and from the 1960s until his death in 2017 worked in NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation) and Det norske teatret (The Norwegian Theatre). Jon Leif Berle (July 12, 1932 – November 30, 2010) was a Norwegian actor, dancer, and choreographer. He performed in productions at the Norwegian Theater and the Norwegian Opera. He also choreographed ''My Fair Lady'' for Opera Week in Kristiansund, and he arranged and translated ''Carmen'' for the Vestfold Symphony Orchestra in 1981. Kjersti Alveberg
Kjersti Alveberg (26 July 1948 – 19 October 2021) was a Norwegian choreographer and dancer. Over the last 30 years of her career she created ballets for stage and television and won prestigious awards for her work. Early life Kjersti Alveberg began to dance at the age of four, but not until she was 19 she took the decisive step of starting her dance studies at Norwegian National Academy of Ballet in Oslo, working at the same time at Chat Noir as a dancer. Aiming at sociology she went on to study dance in New York City, Amsterdam, London and Paris before attending the Nansen Academy. For several years she was a freelance dancer at the Oslo theatres, in fringe groups and in television. Berit Kullander
Berit Kullander (born March 23, 1938) is a Norwegian actress, dancer, and singer. Kullander performed in the Norwegian Opera Company's productions of the ballets ''Swan Lake'' and ''La Sylphide''. After that she danced at Chat Noir from 1954 to 1965. At the Norwegian Theater from 1965 to 1967, her roles included Anita in ''West Side Story'' and the secretary in the stage adaptation of Franz Kafka's ''The Trial''. Frimann Falck Clausen
Frimann Falck Clausen (February 15, 1921 – March 23, 1983) was a Norwegian actor. He played the role of the truck owner Hjul in the children's series '' Jul i Skomakergata'' in 1979 and the wealthy farmer Torsøien in the Norwegian film comedy '' Bør Børson Jr.'' and its sequel. Clausen started his acting career at the Frater Theater in Drammen, where he took part in both revues and theater productions. Later he moved to Oslo, where he performed at several theaters, among them the Norwegian Theater, Oslo New Theater, and National Theatre. He also took part in several productions of NRK's Television Theater. In 1958, Clausen married the actress Anne-Lise Tangstad. Clausen died in 1983. Sølvi Wang
Sølvi Valborg Wang (28 August 1929 – 31 May 2011) was a Norwegian singer, actress and comedian. Wang was born in Bærum, Akershus, to the jazz musician Yngvar Wang and the singer Marie Gulbrandsen. Already at an early age, she sang with her father's orchestra on the radio and in concert. Wang met Egil Monn-Iversen while in school, and in 1948 she founded the music group The Monn Keys together with him. Wang debuted as a recording artist in 1950, in a duet with Arve Opsahl. Later she recorded solo albums, and was responsible for 18 releases in the years up until 1955. Wang combined her solo career with performances with The Monn Keys, which now also included the singers Nora Brockstedt and Per Asplin.
