Bénédicte Liénard
Bénédicte Liénard (; born 25 April 1965 in Mons, Belgium, Mons, Belgium) is a Belgian filmmaker. Biography Benedicte Lienard studied at the Institut des Arts de Diffusion section realization cinema in Louvain-la-Neuve, Louvain-La-Neuve. At 24, she directed her first short film and then assistant director on films Jaco Van Dormael, Manu Bonmariage, Raymond Depardon, the Dardenne brothers. In 1997 and 98, it is dedicated to the creation of a workshop of expression through images and sound environment prison. The exhibition "Images free head" at the Museum of Photography in Charleroi gives see photos and videos of female inmates from the prison of Lantin Prison, Lantin. Louvain-la-Neuve (; French for "New Leuven"; ) is a planned town in the municipality of Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve, Wallonia, Belgium, situated 30 km southeast of Brussels, in the province of Walloon Brabant. Jaco Van Dormael
Jaco Van Dormael (born 9 February 1957) is a Belgium, Belgian film director, screenwriter and playwright. His films especially focus on a respectful and sympathetic portrayal of people with mental and physical disability, disabilities. Van Dormael spent his childhood travelling around Europe, before going on to study filmmaking at the INSAS (film school), INSAS in Brussels, where he wrote and directed his first short film, ''Maedeli la brèche'' (1981), which received the Honorary Foreign Film Award at the Student Academy Awards. Van Dormael's feature debut, ''Toto the Hero, Toto le héros'' (1991), won the Caméra d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Raymond Depardon
Raymond Depardon (; born 6 July 1942) is a French photographer, photojournalist and documentary filmmaker. Early life Depardon was born in Villefranche-sur-Saône, France. Photographer Depardon is a mainly self-taught photographer, as he began taking pictures on his family's farm when he was 12. He apprenticed with a photographer-optician in Villefranche-sur-Saône before he moved to Paris in 1958. He began his career as a photojournalist in the early 1960s. He travelled to conflict zones including Algerian War, Algeria, Vietnam War, Vietnam, Biafra and Chad. In 1966, Depardon co-founded the photojournalism agency Gamma (agency), Gamma. In 1973 he became Gamma's director. From 1975 to 1977, Depardon traveled in Chad. The following year, he left Gamma to become a Magnum Photos associate, then a full member in 1979. Brothers Jean-Pierre Dardenne (; born 21 April 1951) and Luc Dardenne (born 10 March 1954), collectively referred to as the Dardenne brothers, are a Belgian filmmaking duo. Lantin Prison
Lantin Prison is a minimum detention centre located in Lantin near Liège in Belgium. The prison holds 694 male prisoners and 61 female prisoners. In July 2007, deaths from heroin and cocaine were reported from the prison. 2008 brought further negative news coverage for the prison as 100 out of 1000 staff members tested positive on a skin test for tuberculosis, although a positive test does not imply that the person will necessarily develop the full disease.
