Abraham Joseph Bénard (October 26, 1750 – March 3, 1822), known as Fleury, was a French people, French actor and comedian, known for acting at the Comédie-Française. He was born at Chartres, and began his stage apprenticeship at Nancy, France, Nancy, where his father was at the head of a company of actors attached to the court of Stanisław Leszczyński. After four years in the provinces, he came to Paris in 1778, and almost immediately was made ''sociétaire'' at the Comédie Française, although the public was slow to recognize him as the greatest comedian of the day. During the French Revolution, in 1793 Fleury, like the rest of his fellow-players, was arrested in consequence of the presentation of Jean-Louis Laya, Laya's controversial ''L' Ami des lots'' ("The Friend of Laws"), and, when liberated, appeared at various theaters until, in 1799, he rejoined the rehabilitated Comédie Française. Paulo Bénard Guedes (Lisbon, 5 October 1892 – Benguela, 11 September 1960) was the 127th Governor-General of Portuguese India. He was also a general of the Portuguese army. Paulo Bénard Guedes was born in Lisbon in 1892. He began his military career early, having specialized in the Infantry branch in 1913. He also underwent a course of the Colonial School (now the Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Políticas of the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa). He served in Portuguese Mozambique during World War I, and entered the Republican National Guard on his return to Portugal. He was also successful at the Directorate of Diplomatic Services. During World War II, Bénard Guedes assumed the role of Interim Governor of Portuguese India. Jean-Baptiste Bénard de la Harpe (4 February 1683 in Saint-Malo – 26 September 1765) was a French explorer who is credited with using the name "Little Rock" in 1722 for a stone outcropping on the bank of the Arkansas River used by early travelers as a landmark. Little Rock, Arkansas was subsequently named for the landmark. La Harpe was the first known French explorer to set foot in the future state of Oklahoma. Benard Kiplangat Keter (born May 25, 1992) is an American athlete who competes primarily in the 3000 metres steeplechase. Personal life Born in Molo, Kenya, Keter attended Tengecha Boys High School in Kapkatet, Kenya. Benard Ighner (January 18, 1945 – August 14, 2017) was an American jazz singer, musician, songwriter and record producer. Biography Ighner was born in Houston, Texas. After graduating in 1962 he moved with his parents to San Diego, California, and soon afterwards joined the U.S. Army. He learned multiple instruments including piano, guitar and saxophone, and after his discharge in 1965 recorded with Dizzy Gillespie. As Bernard Ito, he recorded a vocal version of the Gillespie composition "Con Alma" on Mercury Records, and for a while took over as Gillespie's featured singer on tour. Later, using the pseudonym Alexander St. Charles, he began working and recording with composer and arranger Lalo Schifrin on the 1971 album ''Rock Requiem'', and co-wrote with Schifrin the song "Like Me" which he sang on the soundtrack of the film ''Dirty Harry''.
