Bärbel Broschat ( Klepp, born 2 November 1957 in Magdeburg) is a retired East German 400 metres hurdler. Biography In 1980, a special edition of the World Championships was staged in Sittard, holding events not yet on the Olympic programme. Broschat won the 400 m hurdles ahead of compatriots Ellen Neumann and Petra Pfaff. Her winning time of 54.55 seconds was a career best time. This ranks her tenth among German 400 m hurdlers, behind Sabine Busch, Cornelia Ullrich, Ellen Fiedler, Heike Meißner, Gudrun Abt, Silvia Rieger, Susanne Losch, Karin Roßley and Petra Krug. Petra Krug
Petra Krug (born 9 November 1963 in Dresden) is a retired East German hurdler. She represented the sports clubs SC Einheit Dresden and SC Dynamo Berlin, and became East German champion in 1989. Krug finished fifth at the 1983 World Championships in Helsinki. In 1989, Krug won the European Cup in Gateshead, defeating Sally Gunnell and Tatyana Ledovskaya. At the World Cup later that year in Barcelona, she finished fourth behind Sandra Farmer-Patrick, Ledovskaya and Gunnell. She reached the final at the 1990 European Championships in Split, but was forced to withdraw because of injury. Her personal best time was 54.35 seconds, achieved in July 1989 in Bryansk. Karin Roßley, ( Regel, born 5 April 1957) is a retired East Germany, East German 400 metres hurdles, hurdler, who represented the sports team SC Cottbus. She was born in Cottbus. She won the bronze medal at the 1978 European Championships in Athletics, 1978 European Championships. Roßley set two world records in athletics, world records during her career: 55.63 seconds in August 1977 in Helsinki and 54.28 seconds in May 1980 in Jena.
