Heinrich Bär
Oskar-Heinrich "Pritzl" Bär (; 25 May 1913 – 28 April 1957) was a German Luftwaffe flying ace who served throughout World War II in Europe. Bär flew more than one thousand combat missions, and fought in the Western, Eastern and Mediterranean theatres. On 18 occasions he survived being shot down, and according to records in the German Federal Archives, he claimed to have shot down 228 enemy aircraft and was credited with 208 aerial victories, 16 of which were in a Messerschmitt Me 262 jet fighter. Sources credit him with 220 – 96 on Eastern Theatre and 124 on Western Theatre – up to 222 aerial victories may also be possible. Bär, a native of Saxony, joined the Reichswehr in 1934 and transferred to the Luftwaffe in 1935. Dietmar Bär (born 5 February 1961) is a German actor. Since 1997 he has starred as ''Freddy Schenk'' in the popular television crime series and in ''Ärzte'' (a TV series in 1994). Clinton "Bär" McKinnon (born December 24, 1969) is an American musician, perhaps best known for being a saxophonist in the San Francisco-based band Mr. Bungle. Bär, pronounced "bear", is a childhood nickname given to him by his older sisters. Ronald Philippe Bär (29 July 1928 – 8 March 2025) was a Dutch Roman Catholic prelate who was bishop of the Diocese of Rotterdam from 19 October 1983 to 13 March 1993, as well as bishop of the Dutch military ordinariate. Olaf Bär (born 19 December 1957) is a German operatic baritone. Life Bär received his musical training in his home city of Dresden, studying at the city's Hochschule für Musik. His career has concentrated on lieder and on the lyric baritone roles of the operatic repertoire. Many of his early lieder performances were accompanied by Geoffrey Parsons. Abraham Dov Ber Lebensohn (; – November 19, 1878), also known by the pen names Abraham Dov-Ber Michailishker () and Adam ha-Kohen (), was a Lithuanian Jewish Hebraist, poet and educator. Biography Avraham Dov Ber Lebenson was born in Katloŭka about Vilna. He became interested in Hebrew grammar and punctuation when studying the weekly portions of the Law for his bar-mitzvah. He was married, according to the custom of those times, right after his bar mitzvah and he spent the next eight years with his wife's parents in Michališki. This gave him the surname "Michailishker," which accounts for the last letter of his pen-name "Adam" (formed from the initials of Abraham Dob Michailishker).
