Městys
Městys (or, unofficially or obsolete, městečko iterally "small town", translated as " market town", is a status conferred on certain municipalities in the Czech Republic, lying in terms of size and importance higher than that of simple ''obec'' (municipality) but lower than that of ''město'' (city, town). Historically, a ''městys'' was a locality that had the right to stage livestock markets (and some other "extraordinary" and annual markets), and it is therefore translated as "market town". The term went out of official use in Czechoslovakia in 1954 but was reintroduced in the Czech Republic in 2006. Zdeněk Štěpánek
Zdeněk Štěpánek (22 September 1896 – 20 June 1968) was a Czech actor. He appeared in 65 films between 1922 and 1968. Life In 1915 Zdeněk Štěpánek joined Austro-Hungarian Army and fought at the Eastern Front. He later switched sides and joined Czechoslovak Legion, in which he participated in the Russian Civil War. He was evacuated through Vladivostok and he returned to Czechoslovakia in 1920. From 1934 he was front-actor of the National Theatre in Prague. He was also member of Czechoslovak Masonic Lodge in Prague. Stanislav Čeček
Stanislav Čeček (13 November 1886 in Líšno – 29 May 1930 in České Budějovice) was a Czechoslovak general. Biography Stanislav Čeček was born in Líšno (today part of Bystřice near Benešov), Austria-Hungary. His father, Karel, was a forester, and Čeček went to the municipal school in Bystřice and then grammar school in Tábor before attending Prague Business Academy and Leipzig Business School. He joined Prague's 102nd Infantry Regiment as a lieutenant in 1907 and worked as a banker. He moved to Moscow in 1911 and worked at the Moscow office of Laurin & Klement company. After the outbreak of World War I, Čeček joined the Czechoslovak contingent of the Imperial Russian Army. On 31 March 1917 he was awarded by Order of St. George (4th degree). Later he took part in the formation of the Czechoslovak Legion and became a commander of the 4th Regiment. D3 Motorway (Czech Republic)
The D3 motorway () is a motorway in the Czech Republic. Once completed, the motorway will connect Prague with the Austrian ''Mühlviertler Schnellstraße, Mühlviertel Expressway'' (S10) to Linz. As of December 2024, only the middle section () of the motorway is in operation; namely a section from Mezno to Kaplice-nádraží. A further from Kaplice-nádraží to Czech Republic–Austria border is currently under construction. The D3 motorway is part of the European route E55. The D3 motorway in the South Bohemian Region towards the Austrian border should be completed by 2026. George Of Poděbrady
George of Kunštát and Poděbrady (23 April 1420 – 22 March 1471), also known as Poděbrad or Podiebrad (; ), was the sixteenth King of Bohemia, who ruled in 1458–1471.
