Byron Cook is an American businessman, rancher, and Republican Party (United States), Republican politician from his native Corsicana, Texas, Corsicana in east central Texas, who is a former Texas House of Representatives, state representative for District 8, which encompasses the County, counties of Anderson County, Texas, Anderson, Freestone County, Texas, Freestone, Hill County, Texas, Hill, and Navarro County, Texas, Navarro. In October 2017, Cook announced that he would not seek re-election in 2018. Early life and education Cook graduated from Navarro College, a community college, with an associate degree in 1974. Cook's father, the late Leland P. Cook, was the former circulation manager for the ''Corsicana Daily Sun''. Leland left the newspaper to start a family business. Paul Lindsey Sadler (born April 29, 1955) is an American Lawyer, attorney from Henderson, Texas, now residing in Bandera, Texas who served from 1991 to 2003 in the Texas House of Representatives. He was the Democratic Party (United States), Democratic nominee for the United States Senate election in Texas, 2012, United States Senate in 2012. In the November 6 general election, he lost against the Republican Party (United States), Republican Ted Cruz, who still holds the position.
