Buzz (Steps Album)
''Buzz'' is the third studio album by British pop group Steps, released on 30 October 2000. It reached number four on the UK Albums Chart. The album saw the group starting to move away from the PWL sound to a more mature sound, working with producers from Sweden and songwriters such as Cyndi Lauper. This more mature sound was also echoed in the new material from '' Gold: Greatest Hits''. Each member of the group co-wrote a track on the album, consequently doing lead vocals on their respective track. The lead single from the album " Stomp", a funky upbeat song with lyrics about partying at the weekend and having a good time, features a sample from Chic's single " Everybody Dance" and topped the UK Singles Chart, becoming the group's second number 1 hit after "Heartbeat"/"Tragedy". Steps (pop Group)
Steps are a British dance-pop group consisting of Lee Latchford-Evans, Claire Richards, Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer and Ian "H" Watkins. They were formed in May 1997 and achieved two number-one albums in the UK, 14 consecutive UK top-5 singles including two number ones (one a double A-side). The group has sold over 22 million records worldwide, 15 million albums worldwide. In-addition to earning a BRIT Award nomination in 1999, for Best Newcomer, the group would be an opening support act for Britney Spears on her debut American tour the same year. When Richards and Watkins departed to form a recording duo, the group disbanded, on 26 December 2001 (officially). Their penultimate single reached No. 5 on the UK charts, while their final album of greatest hits, ''Gold'' (2001), was the group's second No. 1 album in the UK. The Official Albums Chart is the United Kingdom's industry-recognised national record chart for album, albums. Entries are ranked by sales and audio streaming. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on ''UKChartsPlus'' as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of ''The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums'') in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed, this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as ''The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums'' only including this data. ''Step One'' is the debut album by British pop group Steps. It was released in the UK and Europe on 14 September 1998. The album charted at number two on the UK Albums Chart upon its release, going on to spend 64 weeks in the chart. It was beaten to number one by '' This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours'' by Manic Street Preachers, who also beat Steps' single " One for Sorrow" to number one on the UK Singles Chart with the song " If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next". In February 2000, the album was re-released in the US, containing songs from both ''Step One'' and its successor, '' Steptacular''. "Better the Devil You Know" is a song by Australian singer Kylie Minogue, taken from her third studio album ''Rhythm of Love (Kylie Minogue album), Rhythm of Love'' (1990). The song was written and produced by Stock Aitken Waterman and was released as the album's lead single on 30 April 1990 by PWL and Mushroom Records. Chic (stylized CHIC; ), later called Nile Rodgers & Chic, is an American disco band founded in 1972 by guitarist Nile Rodgers and bassist Bernard Edwards.
