Ervin Township is one of eleven Civil township, townships in Howard County, Indiana, Howard County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 2,143, down from 2,227 in 2010. History Ervin township was named for Robert Ervin, a county judge. In the mid-1800s, the township was home to two African American settlements, the Rush Settlement and the Bassett Settlement. The Bassett settlement was the home of Richard Bassett (Indiana politician), Richard Bassett, a Baptist minister who later became the third African-American state representative in Indiana history, and the first from Howard County. State Road 29 is a north–south road in north-central Indiana. Route description The southern terminus of State Road 29 is at U.S. Route 421 and State Road 28 just south of the small town of Boyleston. Going north, it passes through Michigantown in Clinton County, then along the eastern border of Carroll County where it passes through Burlington. Its northern terminus is at U.S. Route 24 and U.S. Route 35 on the south side of Logansport. State Road 22 (SR 22) is an east–west discontinuous state road in the central part of the US state of Indiana. The western end of the western segment is in the town of Burlington, at SR 29. The highway passes through rural areas of Carroll and Howard counties, before ending in Kokomo. The eastern segment begins at an interchange with U.S. Route 31 (US 31) and US 35, in Kokomo, and heads east passing through towns and cities like Greentown, Gas City and Upland, before ending at SR 26. The western segment of SR 22 is concurrent with US 35 from Kokomo to Interstate 69 (I-69). The entire road covers a distance of about , passing through mostly rural areas. Owen Township, Clinton County, Indiana
Owen Township is one of the fourteen townships in Clinton County, Indiana. As of the 2020 census, its population was 879 (down from 930 at 2010) and it contained 346 housing units. The township was named after Robert Dale Owen of New Harmony. History Originally included in Jackson Township, Owen was organized as a separate township in March, 1843. It lost a one-mile (1.6 km) strip along its southern border to Union Township which was created in 1889, leaving Owen a five-mile (8 km) by five-mile square.
