Burlington GO Station is a railway station and bus station in the GO Transit network, located at 2101 Fairview Street in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, just south of Queen Elizabeth Way between Guelph Line and Brant Street. Overview It is a stop on the Lakeshore West line train service, and was, for a time, the western terminus of the rail services. Most peak-hour and off-peak trains now terminate service at or , and a few trains link Hamilton GO further to the west. Ottumwa station is an Amtrak intercity train station in Ottumwa, Iowa, United States. The station was originally built by the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad, and has been listed as Burlington Depot by the National Register of Historic Places since November 26, 2008. It became a contributing property in the Historic Railroad District in 2011. History The Burlington and Missouri River Railroad (B&M) reached Ottumwa from Burlington, Iowa in 1859, and the city remained the western terminus for the line until after the American Civil War. In the summer of 1865 work began to extend the line west of Ottumwa and it reached the Missouri River four years later. The Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad (CB&Q) invested heavily in the project and took over the B&M in 1875. The CB&Q built a combination passenger and freight depot in Ottumwa in 1889. The Burlington Depot in Red Cloud, Nebraska, is a restoration of the station used by the Burlington and Missouri River Railroad (B & M) from 1897 to 1965. Now moved north from its original place near the tracks, the depot is one of the sites owned by the Willa Cather Foundation and includes a freight room, agent's office, waiting room, and sleeping quarters in its two stories. The presence of the depot and trains in Red Cloud greatly affected Willa Cather's life and literary work, and the depot is available for tours to anyone interested in learning more about the author.
