Bunty Aur Babli
''Bunty Aur Babli'' (transl. ''Bunty and Babli'') is a 2005 Indian Hindi-language crime comedy film directed by Shaad Ali, written by Jaideep Sahni from a story by Aditya Chopra, and produced by Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner. The film stars Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji as the titular con artists, with Amitabh Bachchan in a supporting role as a police officer tracking them across India. Inspired by the 1967 American film '' Bonnie and Clyde'', the narrative follows two small-town dreamers who team up to pull off a series of cons under the aliases Bunty and Babli, gaining notoriety across the country. The film marked the first on-screen collaboration between Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan, and one of several pairings of Bachchan Jr. and Mukerji. Shaad Ali
Shaad Ali is an Indian film director and screenwriter who works in Hindi films. Early life and education Ali was born to Muzaffar Ali and Subhashini Ali (née Sahgal), an Indian politician and member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). He is thus the grandson of Azad Hind Fauj commander Lakshmi Sehgal, Lakshmi Sahgal and Colonel Prem Sahgal. He studied at the Welham Boys' School and the Lawrence School (Sanawar), Lawrence School, Sanawar. His paternal grandfather, Raja Syed Sajid Husain Ali, was the former ruling prince of the principality of Kotwara in Awadh of pre-independence India. ''Bunty Aur Babli 2'' () is a 2021 Indian Hindi-language crime comedy film written and directed by debutante Varun V. Sharma, based on a story by producer Aditya Chopra, under the Yash Raj Films banner. A sequel to the 2005 film '' Bunty Aur Babli'', the film stars Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Siddhant Chaturvedi and debutante Sharvari. Khan replaces Abhishek Bachchan from the original, while Mukerji reprises her role. Initially planned for release in June 2020 and then in April 2021, the film was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India.
