Bundesstraße 77
The Bundesstraße 77 is a German federal road or ''Bundesstraße'' and the north–south link between Schleswig, Rendsburg, Hohenwestedt and Itzehoe in the central part of the state of Schleswig-Holstein. Route The B 77 begins in the city of Schleswig where the route continues as B 76. South of Schleswig at Busdorf the B 77 is connected via a local road to the A 7 motorway. Then it bypasses Kropp and continues towards Rendsburg. In Rendsburg it has a connection with the B 203 as well as the B 202 with runs with the B 77 through the Rendsburg Tunnel under the Kiel canal. Then the B 77 bypasses Jevenstedt and meets the B 430 in Hohenwestedt. Schleswig
The Duchy of Schleswig (; ; ; ; ; ) was a duchy in Southern Jutland () covering the area between about 60 km (35 miles) north and 70 km (45 mi) south of the current border between Germany and Denmark. The territory has been divided between the two countries since 1920, with Northern Schleswig in Denmark and Southern Schleswig in Germany. The region is also called Sleswick in English. Unlike Holstein and Lauenburg, Schleswig was never a part of the German Confederation. Schleswig was instead a fief of Denmark, and its inhabitants spoke Danish, German, and North Frisian. Both Danish and German National Liberals wanted Schleswig to be part of a Danish or German national state in the 19th century. Kiel
Kiel ( ; ) is the capital and most populous city in the northern Germany, German state of Schleswig-Holstein. With a population of around 250,000, it is Germany's largest city on the Baltic Sea. Neumünster
Neumünster () is a city in the middle of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. With more than 79,000 registered inhabitants, it is the fourth-largest municipality in Schleswig-Holstein (behind Kiel, Lübeck and Flensburg). Westerrönfeld
Westerrönfeld is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The name literally means "The field west of the Rön", the Rön being a little tributary of the river Eider. Westerrönfeld is located on the southern bank of the Kiel Canal. Geography and Traffic The town is located directly at the Kiel Canal. Neighboring municipalities are (clockwise, starting in the north): Rendsburg, Jevenstedt and Schülp bei Rendsburg, Schülp. In former times there were some heath areas and inland dunes in the area of the municipality, of which only a few are still preserved. Kiel Canal
The Kiel Canal (, until 1948 called in German the ) is a fresh water canal that links the North Sea () to the Baltic Sea (). It runs through the Germany, German states of Germany, state of Schleswig-Holstein, from Brunsbüttel to the Holtenau district of Kiel. It was constructed from 1887 to 1895 and widened from 1907 to 1914. Heide
Heide (; Holsatian: ''Heid'') is a town in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is the capital of the ''Kreis'' (district) Dithmarschen. Population: 22,000. The German word ''Heide'' means "heath". In the 15th century four adjoining villages decided to build a church in the "middle of the heath". This remained the town's name to date. The exact foundation date is now unknown, but by 1447 Heide was already the main village of Dithmarschen. At this time Dithmarschen was an independent peasant republic. Sankt Peter-Ording () is a popular German seaside spa and a municipality in the district of Nordfriesland, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is the only German seaside resort that has a sulphur spring and thus terms itself "North Sea spa and sulphur spring".
