Buckinghamshire Women Cricket Team
The Buckinghamshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Buckinghamshire. They play their home games across the county, and are captained by Izzy Gurney. They consistently played in the bottom tier of the Women's County Championship until the competition ended, and they now play only in the Women's Twenty20 Cup. They are partnered with the regional side Southern Vipers. History 1936–2008: Early History The first recorded match involving Buckinghamshire Women took place in 1936, in which they beat Berkshire Women by 66 runs. Campbell Park Cricket Ground
Campbell Park is a cricket ground in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, located in Campbell Park. The first recorded match on the ground in 1981, when the Northamptonshire Second XI played the Leicestershire Second XI in the Second Eleven Championship. The first List-A match held on the ground came in 1997 when Northamptonshire played Nottinghamshire in AXA Life League. In 1999, the ground hosted a List-A match between New Zealand A and Sri Lanka A. , the most recent List-A match held on the ground came in 2004 when Northamptonshire played Hampshire in the Totesport League. 2014 Women's Twenty20 Cup
The 2014 Women's Twenty20 Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2014 NatWest Women's Twenty20 Cup, was the 6th cricket Women's Twenty20 Cup tournament. It took place in July and August, with 40 teams taking part: 36 county teams, alongside Scotland, Ireland, Wales and Netherlands. In cricket, the wicket-keeper is the Cricket player, player on the fielding (cricket), fielding side who stands behind the wicket, ready to stop Delivery (cricket), deliveries that pass the batsman, and take a Caught, catch, Stumped, stump the batsman out, or run out a batsman when occasion arises. Ella Claridge
Ella Caterina Claridge (born 28 September 2002) is an English-born cricketer who currently plays internationally for the USA and domestically for The Blaze. She plays as a right-handed batter and wicket-keeper. In 2021 and 2022 she was in the Trent Rockets squad for The Hundred, and was later drafted by Northern Superchargers for the 2024 season. Domestic career Claridge made her county debut in 2017, for Buckinghamshire against Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire, in which she top-scored with 57 from 52 balls in a 79-run victory. The following season, 2018, she was Buckinghamshire's leading run-scorer in the Twenty20 Cup, with 196 runs including two half-centuries, both against Dorset. The 2024 ECB Women's County One-Day was an English women's cricket 50-over domestic competition. It took place between April and July 2024, with 34 teams taking part, organised into four regional groups. It was the first nationally-organised 50-over women's county competition since the 2019 Women's County Championship, and ran alongside the Women's Twenty20 Cup. South Central Counties Cup
The South Central Counties Cup is a domestic women's one-day cricket competition in England. Organised by the Southern Vipers regional team for the six counties that constitute the team's region in the South of England, its first edition took place in 2022. The six teams that participate in the competition are Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Sussex. Following the end of the Women's County Championship in 2019 and the launch of the new regional structure for domestic women's cricket in England in 2020, county sides were left without any 50-over cricket. East Of England Women's County Championship
The East of England Women's County Championship is a domestic women's one-day cricket competition in England. The tournament began in 2020, with the aim of providing longer-format cricket in the East of England region after reforms to the structure of domestic women's cricket in England. The tournament currently sees six teams competing in a 45-over competition. History The East of England Women's County Championship was originally conceived in 2020 as a 50-over competition to provide longer-format cricket in the region after the abolition of the Women's County Championship.
