Brøndbyernes Idrætsforening (, usually abbreviated to Brøndby IF (), is a Danish professional football club based in Brøndbyvester. Brøndby IF denotes the professional football section of Brøndbyernes Idrætsforening, which was founded on 3 December 1964 by a merger of the football clubs Brøndbyøster Idrætsforening (founded on 10 October 1928) and Brøndbyvester Idrætsforening (founded on 1 February 1909). The club's first team, which plays in the Danish Superliga, plays its home games at Brøndby Stadium - in the clubs colors of blue and yellow. Vestegnen
Vestegnen is a term for a part of the former Copenhagen County, located west of Copenhagen. The area is defined as consisting of the municipalities of Rødovre, Hvidovre, Glostrup, Brøndby, Albertslund, Køge, Vallensbæk, Ishøj and Høje-Taastrup and covers the area around some of the stations of the S-train, which are on the lines towards and , and which are within the former Copenhagen County. The urban area of Hundige is often included due to its proximity to the rest of “Vestegnen” and the former terminus on the Køge Bugt-banen, but Hundige is located in Greve Municipality and thus neither in the former Copenhagen County nor the current Capital Region of Denmark. Common to the mentioned municipalities – except Vallensbæk Municipality – is that they have for long periods been led by mayors of Socialdemokratiet – in several cases with an absolute majority in the municipal council. Per Bjerregaard
Per Anders Bjerregaard (; born 23 January 1946) is a Danish educated physician (cand.med.) and former footballer, executive director and chairman of Danish football club Brøndby IF. Career Born in Randers, Bjerregaard moved to Copenhagen where he played football for Brøndby IF. He was the captain of the senior team as well as the player representative at the board of the club in 1972, and in 1973 he stopped his active career and became chairman of the club. Since then, he has held a number of posts in Danish football, including membership of the board of the Danish Football Association from 1979 to 1991 and again from 2002 onward, and he was one of the main forces behind Royal League. In January 2006, it was estimated he had sold Brøndby players for more than £27.6 million, and in 2005 alone he sold Thomas Kahlenberg (£2.8m), Daniel Agger (£5.8m) and Morten Skoubo (£1.8m) to foreign clubs. Promotion and relegation is used by sports leagues as a process where teams can move up and down among divisions in a league system, based on their performance over a season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are sometimes called open leagues. Tom Køhlert
Tom Køhlert (; born 30 April 1947) is a Danish football manager and former player who managed Brøndby IF from 1979 to 1985 and several times later as a caretaker. He led the club to its first ever Danish championship in 1985. He has also functioned as a caretaker for the club's first team on two occasions. He currently coaches lower-tier club Gilleleje FK. Playing career A Brøndby IF club legend, Køhlert began his career as a player for Akademisk Boldklub (AB) before shortly moving to Glostrup IF 32 and finally to the former Brøndbyvester IF. Kjøbenhavns Boldklub
Kjøbenhavns Boldklub (known simply as KB) was a Danish professional multi-sports club based in Copenhagen. The club was founded on 26 April 1876 on the grassy fields in outer Copenhagen which later became Fælledparken. Tennis has been played since 1883. The club hosted, in 1921, one of the early tennis majors: the World Covered Court Championships, won by William Laurentz that year. Michael Laudrup (, born 15 June 1964) is a Danish professional Association football, football coach and former player. Brian Laudrup
Brian Laudrup (, born 22 February 1969) is a Danish former professional footballer who played as a winger, forward or as a midfielder, and was regarded as one of the most talented players of his generation. He currently works for the various TV sports channels of Scandinavian media network, Viaplay. Laudrup also manages a football academy for marginalised youth. Ebbe Skovdahl
Ebbe Skovdahl Hansen (5 July 1945 – 23 October 2020) was a Danish football manager. He most prominently was a successful manager at Brøndby, for whom he had also played in his active years. He helped turn the side into the most dominant Danish team in the 1990s, and he also managed the club in several European campaigns with regular successful UEFA Cup runs, and a UEFA Champions League qualification. Finn Laudrup
Finn Laudrup (born 31 July 1945) is a Danish former association football player who played as a forward. He represented a number of Danish clubs and played professionally with Wiener Sport-Club in Austria. He played 19 matches and scored six goals for the Denmark national football team. He is the father of former Denmark national team players Michael Laudrup and Brian Laudrup.
