Brynäs IF (women)
Brynäs IF are an ice hockey team in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL). They play in Gävle, on the eastern-central coast of Sweden, at the Monitor ERP Arena. A constituent part of the Swedish sports club Brynäs IF, they are the sister team of Brynäs IF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). History Between 2010 and 2013, the club advanced to the Riksserien playoff finals four seasons in a row, finishing in second place each time. In 2014, the club unveiled new jerseys, the only ones in Europe to be completely ad-free. Between 2013 and 2019, the club saw its fortunes decline dramatically, and in 2017, head coach Madeleine Östling left the club to coach Linköping instead. Gävle
Gävle ( ; ) is a Urban areas in Sweden, city in Sweden, the seat of Gävle Municipality and the capital of Gävleborg County. It had 79,004 inhabitants in 2020, which makes it the List of cities in Sweden, 13th-most-populated city in Sweden. It is the oldest city in the historical Norrland (Sweden's northern lands), having received its charter in 1446 from Christopher of Bavaria. 2020–21 SDHL Season
The 2020–21 SDHL season was the 14th season of the Swedish Women's Hockey League (; SDHL). The season began on 12 September 2020 and concluded on 26 February 2021. All ten teams were able to complete a full 36-game regular season. The season marked the return to play for the SDHL after the 2019–20 season championship finals were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Sweden. Luleå HF/MSSK
Luleå Hockey/MSSK are a semi-professional ice hockey team in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL). They play in Luleå, a port city in northeastern Sweden, at Coop Norrbotten Arena. The team is the most successful in SDHL history, having been regular season champions for four consecutive years, 2015–2019, and winning the Swedish Championship seven times within eight years, from 2016 to 2024. Angelica Östlund
Angelica Östlund (born 5 July 1991) is a Swedish bandy player and former professional ice hockey forward. She is the all-time leading scorer for Brynäs IF Dam of the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) and served as the club's captain from 2013 to 2018. Östlund participated in 38 matches with the Swedish national team. Career Östlund attended her first hockey match at the age of two, watching Brynäs IF play in the Elitserien. In 2004, she began playing for the club's women's team. In 2009, she was named an assistant captain for the club in 2009, and delivered a standout performance in the 2009–10 Riksserien season, tallying a career best 39 points in 28 games. During the 2011–12, she scored 29 points in 28 games contributing to Brynäs first ever regular season championship. She became club captain in 2013. Assist (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the Puck (sports)#In ice hockey, puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the Goal (ice hockey), goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. There can be a maximum of two assists per goal. In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar.
