''Brother Sun, Sister Moon'' is the 22nd studio album and 27th album overall from Scottish singer-songwriter Donovan. ''Brother Sun, Sister Moon'' was released exclusively on the iTunes Music Store in 2004. History In the early 1970s, Donovan agreed to write and record songs for the English version of Franco Zeffirelli's ''Brother Sun, Sister Moon'' (1972). The accompanying soundtrack album included none of Donovan's original recordings, as only the Italian version was released, with vocals by Claudio Baglioni and score by Riz Ortolani. The non-availability of the Donovan recordings prompted many of Donovan's fans to request an official release of the songs. To satisfy demand, Donovan embarked on acquiring the rights to the original recordings. Due to the nature of the original contract and complex publishing rights issues, it became evident to Donovan that releasing the original ''Brother Sun Sister Moon'' recordings would be extremely difficult. Donovan Phillips Leitch (born 10 May 1946), known mononymously as Donovan, is a Scottish musician, songwriter, and record producer. He developed an eclectic and distinctive style that blended folk, jazz, pop, psychedelic rock and world music (notably calypso). ''Sixty Four'' is the 21st studio album and 26th album overall from Scottish singer-songwriter Donovan. It is composed of demo tracks recorded by Donovan in 1964. ''Sixty Four'' was released in the United States in February 2004 by Donovan Discs, his own record label. History In the summer of 1964, Donovan negotiated his first record contract with Pye Records and recorded several demo songs. At the time, these demos were intended to circulate within the record company and were not intended for public release. The tapes were subsequently archived and their existence was relatively unknown to the public. When Donovan was assisting with the compilation of his first compact disc boxed set '' Troubadour: The Definitive Collection 1964–1976'' in the early 1990s, he gained possession of the original demos. ''Beat Cafe'' is the 23rd studio album, and 28th album overall, from Scottish singer-songwriter Donovan. It is his first collection containing newly written songs since his 1996 album '' Sutras''. ''Beat Cafe'' was released worldwide (Appleseed Records 1081) on 24 August 2004. The first 1000 CDs were autographed and hand numbered. History After the launching of his website and three new releases within two years, Donovan entered the studio with a new band including his longtime friends Danny Thompson on bass and Jim Keltner on drums. The new sessions, produced by John Chelew, mixed rock and roll with a beatnik style. In addition to handling production duties, Chelew contributed keyboards to many of the songs on the album. Riziero Ortolani (; 25 March 192623 January 2014) was an Italian composer, conductor, and orchestrator, predominantly of film scores. He scored over 200 films and television programs between 1955 and 2014, with a career spanning over fifty years. Internationally, he is best known for his genre scores, notably his music for mondo, giallo, horror, and Spaghetti Western films. His most famous composition is " More," which he wrote for the infamous film '' Mondo Cane''. It was released in the UK ( American Recordings 74321 39743 2) and the US (American Recordings 43705) on 14 October 1996. The US version does not contain the final track, "The Garden". History By the mid-1990s, the CD reissues of Donovan's 1960s albums and the '' Troubadour: The Definitive Collection 1964-1976'' boxed set reacquainted his fans with his music.
