Brooklyn Park is a western suburb of the South Australian capital of Adelaide. It is located immediately north-east of Adelaide Airport and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) base on Sir Donald Bradman Drive (the Boulevard of Honour ) . It is bound on the north by Henley Beach Road, on the east by Marion Road, and on the west by the Kooyonga Golf Club on May Terrace. Brooklyn Park is approximately from the Adelaide coast (West Beach, South Australia, West Beach and Henley Beach, South Australia, Henley Beach) and from the Adelaide city centre, Adelaide Central Business District. Lockleys Post Office opened on 1 September 1904 and was renamed Brooklyn Park in 1967. Brooklyn Park now includes a subdivision that was originally named Otto von Bismarck, Bismarck; it was changed by the Nomenclature Committee to "Weeroopa" in 1918. West Torrens is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. Named after the City of West Torrens (which is so-named because of its location on the River Torrens), it is a 25.1 km² suburban electorate in Adelaide's west. Henley Beach is a coastal Suburbs and localities (Australia), suburb of Adelaide, South Australia in the City of Charles Sturt. History Henley Beach draws its name from Henley-on-Thames, England. The land where it stands, sections 448 and 2080 in the Hundred of Yatala, was initially granted to William Bartley on 1 November 1850. Bartley later sold the land to James Macgeorge in August 1873. Salesian College was a Roman Catholic school in Brooklyn Park, a western suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It operated as a boys-only school from 1954. Girls were also enrolled from 1978, until the school's closure in 1996. The boarding section of the school closed in 1984.
