State Route 347 (SR 347) is an east–west state highway in central portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. The western terminus of SR 347 is at SR 287 near Middleburg, adjacent to the U.S. Route 33 freeway. Its eastern terminus is at a T-intersection with SR 37 just south of the village of Magnetic Springs. The route runs through rural areas of Logan and Union counties passing through no incorporated villages. Route description SR 347 begins at a T-intersection with SR 287 in Zane Township, Logan County just northeast of the unincorporated community of Middleburg. SR 287 heads southwest and southeast from this point, while SR 347 heads northwest. Magnetic Springs is a village in Leesburg Township, Union County, Ohio, United States. The population was 267 at the 2020 census. The village has a post office with the ZIP Code of 43036. History Magnetic Springs was platted in 1879 when underground springs were discovered there. The community earned its name from the mineral waters used for healing processes. Word spread across the country of these springs, and tourists began visiting from locations nationwide; even foreigners appeared occasionally. Hotel resorts sprang up, and the village boomed. Following the discovery of modern medicinal cures, including the vaccine for polio, the interest in natural healing remedies faded, and the city's tourism industry collapsed. Atlantic And Great Western Railroad
The Atlantic and Great Western Railroad began as three separate railroads: the Erie and New York City Railroad based in Jamestown, New York; the Meadville Railroad based in Meadville, Pennsylvania (renamed A&GW in April 1858); and the Franklin and Warren Railroad based in Franklin Mills, Ohio (renamed A&GW in January 1853). The owners of the three railroads had worked closely together since an October 8, 1852, meeting in Cleveland to plan an expansion that was described as the "Great Broad Route", using the Erie Railroad to reach respective areas.
