King County was one of the original Nineteen Counties in New South Wales and is now one of the 141 cadastral divisions of New South Wales. It is in the area to the east of Yass. Yass () is a town in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia in Yass Valley Council. The name appears to have been derived from an Aboriginal word, "Yarrh" (or "Yharr"), said to mean 'running water'. Yass is located 280 km south-west of Sydney, on the Hume Highway. The Yass River, which is a tributary of the Murrumbidgee River, flows through the town. Yass is 59 km from Canberra; lying at an elevation of 505 m AMSL. Dalton is a small inland country town in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia in Upper Lachlan Shire. Location Dalton is north of the Hume Highway that joins Sydney and Melbourne, between Goulburn and Yass in southern New South Wales, southwest of Sydney and north of the national capital, Canberra. Oolong is a locality in southern New South Wales, Australia and the location of a minor railway station on the Main South railway line. It lies within the section from Gunning to Bowning which opened as a single line on 3 July, 1876. it is also located on the Hume Highway between Goulburn and Yass. History The station and crossing loop opened on 25 November 1890. The platform, which was 33 metres long, was erected on 18 December, 1890. When the line was duplicated, including deviations to the original alignment, in 1914, a new station building was erected on the deviation. Jerrawa () is a locality in the Upper Lachlan Shire, New South Wales, Australia. It lies on the north side of the Hume Highway about 30 km to the east of Yass and was served by Jerrawa railway station on the Main Southern line between Sydney and Melbourne between 1876 and 1975.
