Britvic was a British producer of soft drinks based in Hemel Hempstead, England. It produced soft drinks under its own name, as well as several other brands. It was listed on the London Stock Exchange until it was acquired by Carlsberg Group and integrated into Carlsberg's UK operations as part of Carlsberg Britvic in January 2025. History The company was founded in the 1930s in Chelmsford as the ''British Vitamin Products Company''. It started producing fruit juices in 1938 and started marketing them under the ''Britvic'' name in 1949. Acquired by Showerings of Shepton Mallet, and subsequently a division of Allied Breweries from 1968, the company changed its name to ''Britvic'' in 1971. In 1986, it merged with ''Canada Dry Rawlings'' and acquired the R. White's Lemonade brand. Tango is a carbonated soft drink originating in the United Kingdom, primarily sold in the UK and Ireland. It was first launched by Corona in 1950. Corona was purchased by the Beecham Group in 1958, and Corona Soft Drinks by Britvic in 1987. , the flavours available in the United Kingdom include Orange, Apple, Cherry and Mango in addition to flavours of the "Tango Ice Blast" slush range. On 7 April 2021, the UK range was extended to include sugar free Dark Berry. Tango is known in the United Kingdom for their advertisements, mostly those broadcast on television in the 1990s from the Howell Henry Chaldecott Lury advertising agency. Chelmsford () is a city in the City of Chelmsford district in the county of Essex, England. Robinsons is a British fruit drink brand, now owned by Carlsberg Britvic, that has been operating for over 200 years, predominantly offering fruit cordials (known as squash in British English). The Robinsons range includes Squash, Fruit Shoot, Barley Water and Fruit Creations. Robinsons sales for 2022 (across all its ranges) totalled nearly £200 million and it was assessed that half of British households bought their products, with more than 9 million glasses of their drink consumed daily. History The company was founded in 1823 by George Robinson and Alexander Belville as Robinson and Belville Ltd, originally as a shipping and trading company but also which manufactured Patent Barley and Groats. Carlsberg Britvic is a British subsidiary of Carlsberg Group, created in January 2025 by the merger of Carlsberg's UK business (including the former Marston's plc breweries) and Britvic, acquired by Carlsberg Group in 2024. History In 2020, Marston's plc merged its brewing business with Carlsberg UK (the United Kingdom arm of Carlsberg Group), in a joint venture valued at £780m. Marston's took a 40% stake and received up to £273m in cash. The deal involved Marston's six breweries and distribution depots, but not its 1,400 pubs. The merger was approved by the Competition and Markets Authority on 9 October 2020. In 2024, Marston's sold their 40% share in CMBC to Carlsberg for £206m in order to focus on running the pub business. The deal to acquire Marston's 40% stake in CMBC was completed on 21 July 2024. Club Orange
Club is the brand name for a series of Irish carbonated soft drinks produced in Republic of Ireland, Ireland by Carlsberg Britvic and previously by Britvic, Britvic Ireland and Cantrell and Cochrane, Cantrell & Cochrane (C&C). It is bottled by the Britvic plant in Dublin. The series includes Club Orange, Club Lemon, Club Shandy#Rock or non-alcoholic shandy, Rock Shandy (a mixture of the orange and lemon flavours) and Club Apple soft drinks. Ingredients In the case of Club Orange, the ingredients are carbonated water, sugar, orange juice, citric acid, the preservative (sodium benzoate), the food coloring, colours beta carotene and apocarotenal, and vitamin C (ascorbic acid). Club Orange includes fragments of fruit flesh (juice vesicles), referred to in marketing material as "bits", that remain in the glass after the drink has been consumed. Corona was a brand of carbonated soft drink produced by Thomas & Evans Ltd in South Wales, and distributed across the United Kingdom. The firm was created by grocers William Thomas and William Evans when they saw a market for soft drinks caused by the growing influence of the temperance movement. The company's first factory was based in Porth, Rhondda, eventually expanding to 87 depots and factories throughout Britain. 7 Up (stylized as 7UP worldwide) or Seven Up is an American brand of Lemon-lime drink, lemon-lime–flavored non-caffeinated soft drink. Whitbread is a British multinational hotel and restaurant company headquartered in Houghton Regis, England.
