George Brett
George Howard Brett (born May 15, 1953) is an American former professional baseball third baseman, designated hitter, and first baseman who played 21 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Kansas City Royals. Brett's 3,154 career hit (baseball), hits are second most by any third baseman in major league history (after only Adrián Beltré, Adrian Beltré's 3,166) and rank 18th all-time. He is one of five players in MLB history to accumulate 3,000 hits, 300 home runs, and a career .300 batting average (baseball), batting average (the others being Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Miguel Cabrera, and Stan Musial). Lionel Gordon Baliol Brett, 4th Viscount Esher, 4th Baron Esher CBE (18 July 1913 – 9 July 2004) was a British peer, architect and town-planner. He succeeded to his title on the death of his father in 1963. Early life Brett was born in Windsor, Berkshire, the son of Oliver Sylvain Baliol Brett, 3rd Viscount Esher and Antoinette Heckscher (1888–1965). Kenneth Alven Brett (September 18, 1948 – November 18, 2003) was an American professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball for the Boston Red Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox, California Angels, Minnesota Twins, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Kansas City Royals from 1967 to 1981. Judith Brett
Judith Margaret Brett (born 1949, Melbourne) is an Emeritus Professor of politics at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. She retired from La Trobe in 2012, after a restructuring of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in which the School of which she was head was dismantled. Her PhD from Melbourne University's Politics Department in the 1970s was on Austrian fin-de-siècle poet Hugo von Hofmannsthal. Brett's 2017 biography of Alfred Deakin won the 2018 National Biography Award. Her next book, ''From Secret Ballot to Democracy Sausage: How Australia got Compulsory Voting'', was shortlisted for the 2019 Queensland Literary Awards University of Southern Queensland History Book Award. James Seymour Brett (born 3 April 1974) is an English composer and conductor. Early career After graduating from the Royal Academy of Music in 1997, Brett was immediately hired by composer Michael Kamen. Brett's further contribution to film scores includes writing collaborations with Kamen on features such as The '' Event Horizon'', '' What Dreams May Come'', '' The Iron Giant'', ''Frequency'', ''X-Men'', and the mini series, '' Band of Brothers'' produced by Steven Spielberg. Jan Brett (born December 1, 1949) is an American illustrator and author of children's picture books. Her titles include ''The Mitten'', ''The Hat'', and ''Gingerbread Baby'' as well as retelling traditional stories such as the Gingerbread Man and Goldilocks. Life Brett was born and still lives in Massachusetts. She studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. It takes her an hour to hand-paint an inch in gouache for her intricate artwork.
