Brett Cooper (born July 2, 1987) is an American mixed martial artist currently competing in the Welterweight division. A professional competitor since 2005, he has also competed for Bellator, PFL, Affliction, Absolute Championship Berkut, IFL, KSW, and Jungle Fight. Background Cooper was born in Providence RI, and has lived in Long Beach, California his whole life. Mixed martial arts career Early career Cooper made his professional debut in 2005 when he was 17 years old and won via TKO. He held a record of 5–4 with a split decision win over future EliteXC and Strikeforce veteran Conor Heun before facing future UFC and Strikeforce veteran Jason Von Flue. Cooper won the bout via TKO and then made his IFL debut in his next fight against future UFC veteran Rory Markham. Rory Markham (born March 25, 1982) is an American professional mixed martial artist and actor who most recently acted alongside Will Smith playing Booker Grassie in the latest addition to the '' Bad Boys'' franchise ''Bad Boys for Life''. Formerly, Rory competed in the Welterweight, Middleweight and Light Heavyweight Divisions. A professional competitor since 2003, Markham has formerly competed for the UFC and the IFL. Background An experienced martial artist from a young age, Markham began training in Shidokan Karate at the age of six before later transitioning into Kenpo. Jared Hess (born November 13, 1983, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) is a retired American mixed martial artist. He is most known for his stint fighting for Bellator Fighting Championships in their middleweight division. He was runner up in the middleweight tournament after losing to Hector Lombard. Biography Hess grew up in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and attend Western Heights High School, Oklahoma City. While in high school, Hess was a standout football player and wrestler. His freshman year, his wrestling team went 2–8 but Hess was state champion for his weight. Hess had his first child in 2002 during his senior year. After high school, Hess attended University of Central Oklahoma and graduated in 2007 with a degree in Industrial Safety and Criminal Justice.
