Brendan Lowry
Brendan Lowry (born 11 July 1959) is an Irish people, Irish former Gaelic footballer who played for his local club Ferbane GAA, Ferbane and for the Offaly county football team, Offaly senior county team from 1981 until 1992. He attended St Joseph & St Saran's Secondary School in Ferbane. Lowry scored 0–3 to help his team to victory in the 1982 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship final, the most recent occasion that Offaly won the Sam Maguire Cup. His brothers Mick Lowry, Mick and Seán Lowry, Seán also played in the 1982 All-Ireland SFC winning side. Lowry managed the Westmeath county football team, Westmeath senior team between 1997 and 2000. He received a controversial six-month ban (which was later lifted) after protesting against a tackle on Dessie Dolan in the 2000 O'Byrne Cup final. Ferbane/Belmont GAA is a football club in the Gaelic Athletic Association located in Ferbane in County Offaly, Republic of Ireland, Ireland, 13 miles from Birr, County Offaly, Birr. The Ferbane GAA field is located in the town of Ferbane on the Ballycumber Road. Ferbane play in the Offaly GAA, Offaly championship. Ferbane holds the record for the club with the longest continuous sponsorship deal in Gaelic football. 2000 O'Byrne Cup
The 2000 O'Byrne Cup was a Gaelic football competition played by the county teams of Leinster GAA. The tournament was a straight knockout, with 12 teams. Longford were the winners, defeating Westmeath in the final in Cusack Park, Mullingar. In the final, the Westmeath manager, Brendan Lowry, intruded onto the pitch and clashed with a Longford player and the referee; he received a six-month suspension. The suspension was later lifted. 2019 Open Championship
The 2019 Open Championship was the 148th Open Championship, played at Royal Portrush Golf Club in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It was the second Open Championship at Portrush, which last hosted in 1951, won by Max Faulkner. Royal Portrush saw major alterations in preparation for the tournament, including replacing two of the holes. Shane Lowry won his first major title by six strokes over Tommy Fleetwood. Ranked 33rd coming into the tournament, Lowry's previous biggest wins were the 2015 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and the 2019 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. The Irish Open currently titled as the Amgen Irish Open for sponsorship reasons, is a professional golf tournament on the European Tour. The Irish Open was first played in 1927 and was played annually, except for the war years, until 1950. There was a tournament in 1953, but the event was then not played again until revived in 1975. It has been contested annually since then. From 1963 to 1974 Carroll's sponsored a tournament, generally called the Carroll's International and in 1975 they became the sponsor of the Irish Open which became known as the Carroll's Irish Open.
