Breakfast Creek, Queensland
The Breakfast Creek ( Aboriginal: ''Yawagara '') is a small urban stream that is a tributary of the Brisbane River, located in suburban Brisbane in the South East region of Queensland, Australia. Course and features Rising as the Enoggera Creek that drains the D'Aguilar Range in the D'Aguilar National Park, Breakfast Creek forms near where it flows a short meandering course of before reaching its confluence with the Brisbane River at Newstead, next to Newstead Park. Travelling up the Brisbane River, the creek is the first to join the river on its northern banks. The heritage-listed Breakfast Creek Hotel is located near the confluence with the Brisbane River and is known for serving XXXX beer exclusively from wooden barrels. Enoggera Creek
Enoggera Creek is a creek which flows through the City of Brisbane in South-East Queensland, Australia. Geography Enoggera Creek rises in the suburb of Enoggera Reservoir on the D'Aguilar Range and flows into the Brisbane River (becoming Breakfast Creek in the final stage). The creek's headwaters form on the southern slopes of Mount Nebo in Brisbane Forest Park. Within the suburb of Enoggera Reservoir, the creek is dammed by Enoggera Dam ( (). After which, it meanders in a south-easterly direction, leaving the undisturbed parkland and flowing through the Brisbane suburbs of The Gap, Ashgrove (where it separates the neighbourhood of St Johns Wood from the rest of the suburb), Alderley, Newmarket, Red Hill, Kelvin Grove, Wilston, Herston, Windsor and Bowen Hills. The 1893 Brisbane flood, occasionally referred to as the Great Flood of 1893 or the Black February flood, occurred in 1893 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Patrick Leslie (25 September 1815 – 12 August 1881) was a Scottish settler in Australia. Leslie and his two brothers (Walter and George) were the first to settle on the Darling Downs, and he was the first person to buy land in Warwick. Early life Partick Leslie was born in Warthill, also known as Meikle Wartle in Aberdeenshire on 25 September 1815. He was the second son of William and Jane Leslie. His father was the 8th Laird of Folla and 9th Laird of Warthill, JP, DL, 27th in line of descent from the 1st Baron of Balquhain. The Leslies were members of the Church of Scotland. In December 1834, Leslie left London as a passenger aboard the convict transport ''Emma Eugenia'', arriving in Sydney in May 1835. Bridge To Brisbane
Bridge to Brisbane is an annual long-distance fun run over a distance of or held in Brisbane, Australia in August. The first race occurred in 1997 with fewer than 5000 entrants and each year the event raises funds for charity. 2007 saw 24,350 runners participate. In 2007 the Bridge to Brisbane attracted a field of up to 30,000 runners, while 2008 saw more than 36,000 people join the race and in 2009 more than 45,000 people took part. Route Until 2015, the race began at the southern side of the Eastern Sir Leo Hielscher Bridge in Lytton and finished at the Ekka showgrounds in Bowen Hills. The route travels along Kingsford Smith Drive and the Inner City Bypass, towards the city via the suburbs of Hamilton and Bowen Hills. In 2016 the course was moved to Brisbane City. Breakfast Creek Green Bridge
The Breakfast Creek Green Bridge is a pedestrian and cycle bridge over Breakfast Creek in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The bridge connects Newstead Park at Newstead to the Lores Bonney Riverwalk in Albion in the inner north east of the city. The bridge design is a tied arch bridge with two different arch spans 67 metres and 89 metres inclined and supported together. Construction was being undertaken by Georgiou Group. and the project's cost was $67 million.
